Blurry pics on iPhone 14 Pro Max (iOS 16.0.2)

I just got the new phone few days ago (for the better cameras compared to 13 Pro Max), and surprisingly the pics quality is blurry!

If I use the main camera when choosing 'vivid' mode, after the pic is taken , it takes 3-4 more seconds to do the post-processing! You can see the pic changing contrast, light etc in 2-3 times during that time interval of 3-4 seconds. The result at the end is not as good as I had with 13 Pro Max - which did the processing WHILE taking the pics and not after...

If I chose the 'standard' mode, the pics are better than in vivid mode, but still if you zoom just a little the details get lost! If you dont zoom, some areas of the pic seem clear and others blurry!

I did everything I could do from my side, cleaned the lens, updated to 16.0.2 as I mention in the title and I dont know what else to do :/

Any help on this please?

Having the same issue, called Apple support. They’re apparently aware of the issue and the software team is notified and “working on the issue”. They also said they’re unable to tell me how long the “fix” software release will be, could be 1 months. Could be 6 months…

also offered me a phone swap but my phone passed all hardware issues so swapping the phone won’t really solve the issue.

We’re all Apple people here right? 😂 I think it’s safe to say this company does not admit anything is ever wrong 😂 they actually told people they were holding their phones wrong. I wouldn’t hold out for any kind of acknowledgment or accountability. That’s not their strong suit. Hopefully just a future update when the 15 pro comes out with better features. I’m still burned by Apple when I bought an iPad 3 which was a pos. The 4 came out like 4 months later to fix the issues and they never acknowledged anything.

Having the same issues. I got a new phone only so that I would have a good camera since I take all of my pictures on my phone, and I am so incredibly disappointed in my 14 pro picture quality. If I do not have strong lighting the pictures are grainy to the point it looks like my old flip phone pictures. Same issue happens when I zoom in. The constant auto focusing is a nightmare and if there is any movement at all I get a blurry picture. If apple can’t fix this they need to offer free trade-ins for all who bought the 14 pro.

Is there nothing that can be done collectively here to force them to acknowledge the issue and guarantee is a fix ? I would be happy to keep hold of my phone if it was being worked on and I knew a fox was coming sooner than later. But if it’s not a priority by Apple then I am afraid the phone will go and I will never buy another

Question for everyone - Exactly which 14 pro and case do you have?

I have the 14 pro max 512gb, Att, white/silver, NQ8Y3LL/A

Otterbox defender xt clear case for use with MagSafe.

my husband has 14 pro max, 254 go, Att, grey, otterbox defender xt case in black - he has no issues. Side by side our photos do not look like they come from the same phone.

Two weeks before my new iphone 14 pro max arrived, my MacBook pro 15" hinge broke. Same hinge broke to my staff's 13" macbook pro. This widespread problem is known as the Flexgate! Apple acknowledged but would only repaired 13" for free but not for 15"(repair quote is more than AU$1000)! So, I was already v upset, then the phone problem.... So definitely yes, I will never buy another Apple product again!

Hoping to buy a pixel 7 instead also.
