Email not sending on iPhone

I guess it's because I closed the Mail app too fast. (within the 10-second "undo" window)

Same - and Apple act as if they've never heard of the problem, or rephrase the problem as if you're having problems sending emails rather than the fact that the emails have been sent yet disappear from the app, server and any evidence of having been written, sent or even existed.

And if you don't leave the app too quickly, but send other emails which also do not appear in the sent folder…??

This is not confined to single emails, this is random, intermittent issue and where one one occasion I have been in an email dialogue, the recipient waiting on an email that I have sent, which they haven't received, and I'm sitting there waiting for their reply unaware that my email has disappeared into the binary either never to be seen again.

Also, I have reported this on three occasions to Apple and they have gone away to do their investigations and come back simply to ask me if I have updated my software, other than that they have not heard of the issue before and have no solution to offer for the problem

I am having the same issue with two different email providers. One just sits in the outbox until I resend it from the outbox and the other won’t send at all. It just keeps telling me the username or password is incorrect. I have deleted and the re-added the email addresses, restarted the phone several time, updated everything there is to be updated, but the issue persists

I wasn’t having this issue before ios16. Several users posting on this thread are saying the same thing. Maybe my emails aren’t “disappearing”, but there seems to be some issue with the new undo feature and several email issues on iOS 16

Frustrates the f*** out of me that when you speak to Apple support they know nothing about it and come up with inane and hopeless suggestions on what to check etc instead of dealing with the software issue that they are not allowed to admit!

Apple has rapidly gone downhill over the past 3-4 years. My friend's Samsung knocks my iPhone into last century. Dictation is accurate, keyboard typing is accurate, spell check is helpful, not ridiculous "phailia" (WTF...??) and the camera on the Samsung just blows me away. It's stunning especially in low light/nighttime. Why do we persist with Apple phalias!

I have exactly the same problem. I’ve had 3 emails just completely disappear since iOS 16.1.1 installed on my phone…no error message, not in drafts, not in any folders. Just disappeared in cyber-space somewhere.

I have tried emailing myself then hitting “undo send” but that makes the msg show again so it can be canceled, added to, etc. It does not make the msg disappear.

I am now checking every email to make sure it was sent. Help!

W.court, if you’d read what I wrote instead of trying to appear smart, I said “it’s possible” it only occurs with replies. I was merely alluding to the possibility in case that information was of assistance to someone.

I read what you wrote, and it is 100% not possible that it is only with replies.

The fact that you didn't like my message doesn't require you to start badmouthing. And when it comes to smart, I'm sure you read this stream before you posted your message. You are definitely not smart

Same problem here. After the update to 16, I hear a woosh when sending an email. Later I check because I have not heard a reply, and the email is not in the outbox, drafts, or in sent mail. I am thinking that I might be closing too quickly and undoing the send. It is so frustrating that it just disappears.

Same. Both of my emails that disappeared had attachments. One was a loan application - caused me to miss the deadline. Another was a legal document and thankfully I called my lawyer two hours later and she let me know the email never came through. A month I had an email that she didn’t receive as well, but I’ve only been checking my sent box recently, confirming the email wasn’t sent. I receive no error messages and I hear the swoosh as well.

Disabling “undo send” does not rectify the issue. I still have email stuck in my outbox until I go in and resend them from the outbox. APPLE!!!!! You really need to find a solution to this problem!!!!
