MacBook Air won't charge after upgrade to Monterey 12.6

2017 Intel based Macbook air won't charge after upgrade to Monterey 12.6. It has to be drained and shutdown before it can charge again. I have replaced battery not long ago and current cycle is only at 57.

After searching the apple support, here's an article that I found that explains:

If your Mac battery status is “Not Charging” - Apple Support (SG)

I need to use up to 90%, then I am required to SHUTDOWN before I can charge. This is so inconvenient especially when I am on an online conference call. Is there a way to bypass and revert to the old ways? Meaning, it charges whenever the Macsafe is plugged on?

thanks.
