Lightning to HDMI no longer working with IOS16 update

Lightning av adapter to HDMI no longer working after IOS16 update. Updated to current iOS 16.0.3 using Apple certified cord, turned off and on, phone is updated and backed up. It work until ios16. Another phone works, but not updated to the iOS16. For example Netflix mirrors from phone to tv and will play the trailer, but once I hit play the screen goes black and says now playing on your tv. But is not playing anything. How can I fix this issue? Thank you.

Not helpful at all. The update to IOS 16 is not compatible with the AV digital lightning plug. We full time RV and do not have WiFi. We depend on the AV plug adapter. We even bought a new one. My wife just purchased the new 14, she had s 6 which worked great. Our iPad worked great until we updated to the 16. Now nothing works. You all need to fix this and quick passing the buck to the other streaming platforms.

I keep getting emails regarding new posts to this discussion, but I only see 1 post that claims success: that of Bernd Kuemmerlen posted 5/1/23. I reset the network settings as he suggested, and it worked. Then along came iOS 17.2.1. Still works using my iPhone 11. I can't speak for all apps on all devices, but it fixed the problem for me, and still does even after an iOS upgrade.

My experience with this adapter “Apple MD826 / MD826ZMA Lightning to HDMI Adaptor” is that it works for all streaming except ESPN, granted i do not use Netflix, but i do use Youtube TV, Youtube, Prime Video, Willow, Flosports….etc. lately it was not working but I discovered if I pulled the power cord from the adapter, then connected it to the phone, and afterwards connected the lightning power cable, everything works absolutely fine.

My Apple Lightning Digital AV adapter does not work with iOS version 17.4.1 on my iPhone 12 mini. Has this bug not been addressed yet? I have verified it is not YouTube TV blocking the video and it is not the adapter itself.

Fortunately I have a very old iPad that is running iOS 10.3.3 and it streams video from YouTube TV with my current adapter.

I certainly would like to be able to use my iPhone 12 mini to stream since it is much faster and doesn’t buffer like the old iPad.

Has anyone found a fix or work around to these Apple updates? Has anyone from Apple indicated that this issue still exists for many users?

Just like everyone else. Lightning to cable and tv only works on some things. My Dish DVR recordings will not show on hotel tv. We just bought and paid almost a hundred dollars for a brand new Apple lightning device and a new premium high speed HDMI cable because we thought it was a problem with the old one . Not so. Hulu works. HBO works, etc. But dish sometimes works but not recordings or Prime Video . It’s frustrating that we can’t watch our shows since we travel all over the US for work. Also we’ve also had Apple smart phones and IPads for years . We’re paying for expensive equipment from Apple and cannot watch unless we are home. Mine stopped working with the newest update from Apple just like everyone else is complaining about. Can Apple not correct the problem they have created for thousands of your faithful customers?

I know this is old, but I found that when I unlock my ipad and go to a Home Screen

I can plug the adapter in and it will work, then I open the app I use (zwift) and it continues to work. If I open Zwift first then plug the adapter in doesn’t work. This is a sometimes fix when I try to project movies, but then the prime will sometimes not let it play if it detects it is being used on the projector. So I unplug it and it plays then I run into the same issue of it not detecting the projector being plugged in with the HDMI when I go to plug it back in while not on the home screen.

was just on the line with applecare for over an hour.. Yes..they do blow you off when stating that the IOS 16 update takes away the ability to play Netflix through your apple lightning stick. They hung up on me twice..pretending they had no idea??

So not fair..we pair our monthly fee to use these streaming apps..then apple dictates our usage!! We buy apple products..right now have 7 products…not understanding why they can’t be more user friendly?

Anyone else frustrated???
