Sent to the recommended Apple feedback link - thank you for that link. I'd just done the chat with a pleasant person but upgraded TODAY to 16.3 & I get no pic/sound at all on my 4k TCL 55" TV. NOTHING. And it's not my adapter. It will still charge, but that's it. I'm HIGHLY upset now to learn after being given hope this is to be fixed in an upcoming update that it's been promised since 9/22 & even as I updated this very day, still no change. I only learned of this b/c I'm going to train for a new job in a hotel & would like to have a way to watch streaming w/o this issue, but it appears this is gonna be a problem now unless the TV in the hotel will do AirPlay (HIGHLY doubtful to really impossible b/c the networks have to be the same & in a hotel, that likelihood is practically non-existent.) I can do a hotspot IF I can change the TV network w/o issue (that's a toss-up), but we all know how this is likely to go. Had any of us known this, I have NO DOUBT in my mind none of us would have downloaded & installed 16 to start with. As an I.T. person myself, I always worry about updating immediately, but usually end up hoping for the best unless I see online an immediate complaint about the problem occuring w/said update. And the reasons run the gamut from firmware compatibility problems to possible purposeful shutting off of this feature by streaming apps. I've read many times that pirates of movies use an HDMI in the process (I've never taken time to learn to pirate, so I can't say if that's accurate - but does the MPAA REALLY want an I.T. person to advance in pirating, hacking, & all such as that if they're not working for the government?? Copy protection & such is ALWAYS gotten around eventually... time is all that's needed.) I know a VERY small (practically useless) amount about how some software cracks & keygens are done & why/how they work. I really don't want to spend the time to become a pro at it. However, it seems even Microsoft wants this to happen. You can't even have MS Office now w/o paying regularly to use it. Whatever happened to using it indefinitely for years until a major OS change occurred or MAJOR change to the software (which, in my opinion, was a change for the sake of a change but not a reasonable change - the newer versions are NOT more user-friendly for sure & suddenly everyone is thrown off kilter & must TOTALLY relearn how to do everything they already knew.) Apparently, Windows 8 was not lesson enough for them. XP remains the reigning release of Windows & was supported the longest. Honestly, while newer may look fancier in some ways, I'd be just as happy STILL using XP as I am using 10 or 11. Everything was simple & straight-forward. Changing the names of functions/programs like moving Control Panel, making things pop-up we didn't ask for like news when you move your mouse to the lower screen, & just all the weirdness of only SOME programs showing up in the Start menu is frankly inane. Why exactly do I need to search Cortana for a program now instead of it just being in the list of programs? And I shouldn't have to change a setting to get it there either. Reminds me of when Windows changed the command line for the ip & MAC addresses. FOR WHAT PURPOSE??!? It was c:\winipcfg & suddenly c:\ipconfig /all. I don't care which they use - it's the same data & just as simple to type. WHY THE CHANGE? This is what makes I.T. people go nuts when they have to service between versions of Windows unless they REALLY love their work. I find w/more age, I just want it to WORK. I don't need it to look different every few years & to have to learn a whole new way of doing everything. To the layman who needs help & has to Google to even find out how to get their IP address, it becomes information that's different across different websites for a long time as the older gets more outdated & makes them go nuts trying a process that hasn't worked for years but they don't know that. All I can say on that, my friends, is don't ever forget: Google is usually your best friend. You may need to look more than 1 place (2 or maybe 3 - pay attention to the date of the post if it's there), but you'll find your answer. Calling I.T. people is unfortunately VERY time-consuming b/c as we make efforts to help, people who aren't well-versed in I.T. don't often understand what they're being instructed to do, so seeing it on the screen is MUCH easier & faster than someone trying to explain on the phone. I've had the existence of the start button on XP denied for an hour before the epiphany hits & they say "Oh!!! Now I see it!" And today's kids, who are in the know about everything at 10 years old while we're still having to Google much of the processes we forget how to do b/c we just don't NEED to do them until some update or virus messes things up. That's my rant. Maybe if we make enough noise............
