MDM, Apple School Manager, Apple Business Manager?!?!?!

Hi all!

Here's my situation.... I work in Administration for a child care organization (infants through elementary age). One school has 15 classrooms, our other school has 5 and then we have 3 Elementary programs. All of the classrooms have their own iPads, which means I manage about 25+ iPads. We didn't start at this size, we have slowly grown over the years. Classrooms also didn't always each have their own iPad, this increase mostly happened during the pandemic.

Anyways, right now I am currently setting up the iPads as you would a personal device in a large family. We use 4 different apple ID's and they all are part of a Family Share so that we can share purchases, apps, etc... As things have evolved, it is getting tricky and time consuming for me to try and effectively manage these devices. I am hoping to transition to a different method but was not sure which management system would fit my needs. I wasn't sure if Apple School was needed since we are not managing devices for students, just the staff/teachers. Any advice is appreciated!!!! :)

If you are attempting to manage a device estate, you might be best advised to use an MDM management platform (e.g., Jamf) and Apple Business Manager/Essentials.
