Mac Pro 2013 HDMI only 30 hz for 1440p?

Hi. I was using DP for connectin my Nac PA272w monitor to Mac Pro 2013. And it was 60hz for 1440p

But i just bought new HDMI 2.0 cabel and connect my monitor.

And it only gives 30hz for 1440p. Also i think the quality of image is a bit worse.

Why?

Because the HDMI port on the 2013 MP is limited to 30Hz for resolution greater than 1080p.

I would get a mini displayport to HDMI adapter rated for 4K@60 Hz and use that. That is what I had to use to drive a 4K monitor@60Hz since my PC could only use the DP input on my 4K monitor.

ALso make sure that your HDMI cable 2.9 is rated for 4K@60 Hz
