On ios 16.1 - The post login Homescreen wallpaper keeps disappearing into a jet black background even though all the app icons still show up as they were - rebooting the phone restores the wallpaper till I have locked/unloced the phone 3 to 4 times and then back to black background.
Any workaround?

Mine was doing the same thing and I finally think I discovered how to fix it.
After I did that, my lock screen appeared as it should.
Now I just discovered that photos of people I know on Facebook are distorted, almost like a negative of a photograph
Forget those steps and Upgrade. My problems went away with iOS 16.5. Still gone at iOS 17.0.
Fixes are not adequate. Image comes back enlarged or blurry. Please fix this problem with the next update. Thanks!
Same exact problem and no solution works. It’s annoying to be given the option of customizing the lock screen only to have it fail entirely. What was the purpose of this feature?
