Generic icons appearing in Mail attachments
Since upgrading to macOS Ventura, a number of attachment types such as PDF attachments in Mail are appearing as generic blank icons. How do I resolve this problem?

I would simply wait for point updates to follow the macOS 13.0
or
updates to follow from your default PDF reader or third party for ex Adobe...
Finder. Honestly never kept track of email attached doc icons. Most I receive are via a work vpn. Those icons are specific to Microsoft systems that my work exclusively uses.
MacOS Ventura 13.3 and the problem is still there..... this happens to safari too when download a file
Confirm, that problem is still there in 13.3. Instead we have a "new 21 emodji symbols", Apple seriously?! Ready to come back on Monterey...

Indeed! I can confirm that in 13.4. both the dock and the mail attachments look as they should! Finally!
