Error Number: -1743 Not authorised to send Apple events to Contacts. AppleScript, Ventura, Unhappy Face...

I had a friend help me make a neat script in AppleScript that pulls the contact details from a contact selected in Contacts.app and load it into the clipboard, ready to be pasted in a neat layout as text into an email, text or document. It's been working great for 10+ years, but now that I've updated to Ventura, it's broken.

I tried saving it as an app and running it and get the same message in a different dialog box -

I edited the app's plist to include NSContactsUsageDescription, but made no difference. I tried creating a new user account and it came up asking to allow Applescript to access my Contacts, but then after authorising it, that same error then popped up and continued to do so.

I searched online and found something about someone who had a similar problem, but did something with xcode to make it work, but that didn't make any sense to me.

I called Apple support and they had no idea, couldn't even get screen sharing to work at their end either. I told the tech that he should try creating a new user account and trying again, and then told him that he should reinstall his operating system and try again... He didn't think that was very funny, but I did.

Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance,
