BATTERY DRAIN DRAMATICALLY ON IOS 16.1.1

I purchased the iPhone 14 Pro Max the battery was okay not as good as my previous iPhone 13 Pro Max which was a legend. It’s annoying how my battery has been dramatically draining so fast on my latest iPhone 14 pro max after the iOS 16.1.1 update apple should really fix this we were promised a better battery life which should be an hr better then the 13 pro max not lesser by 5hrs it’s barely lasts through the next day when I used to get 2 days of 13 pro max. Come on apple I’m really considering selling my latest iPhone and get last years one!

I solved this! The above ideas got me thinking- I turned off Wi-Fi, and kept an eye on cellular data usage per app for a few days.

Turns out the notes app was using 100–200MB/day even though I wasn’t using the app or adding/removing notes. Turning off cellular data for that app greatly improved battery (unless I was on Wi-Fi), but didn’t fix the root cause.

I went through my notes manually and deleted large notes that contained lots of photos or other attachments, which I suspect were having trouble syncing up to iCloud, as I wasn’t willing to turn off iCloud sync. Deleting enough notes cost cellular data usage to drop to almost 0 again - fixing the issue and battery life returned to normal.

Hope this helps others…

Apple software do such a sloopy work these days , not only modern ios full of bugs , apple still couldn’t figure out how to get better battery 🔋 with every update

and lastly i wouldnt ever upgrade to ios 17 whenever it comes because apple has a history of intentionally make iphone slower with every update and force people to buy new device , fyi apple your greed will never be satisfied no matter how many trillions you get every passing year

Today, for the first time, I am thinking of replacing my apple with an android device.Every update is a problem with the battery.I don't know why you do this to people who have been loyal to you for 13 years.I've been using an iPhone since 3Gs, but I think that this iPhone 12 Mini will be my last iPhone even if I wanted to buy a 14 Pro.New update should solve the problem, but when you have Apple with a new update, you get a new problem.Apple I think it's time to say goodbye.

iPhone 12 Pro Max. Updated from last iOS 15 to iOS 16.1.1 (my big mistake). I got a huge battery drain!

  1. Please stop post suggestion like: "turn on auto brightness, turn off background ops and this and that... and etc". It doest help and sounds like "turn of as much features as possible to get a 25 years old Nokia instead of modern phone." According to this logic the best way is to turn of phone and keep it in a desk drawer for the time been. But I paid for functionality and I want to be able to use it as I want.
  2. One more suggestion - "your phone has to index everything so just wait day or two or three or...". Apple has to make a progress indicator for index process in these case. How can we know it is finished or not? And indexing must be done while phone is charging and connected to wifi. Better at night time. No! Apple has its own logic! That's why I got discharged phone today morning!
  3. I already tried: 1. All suggestions from above. 2. Reset network and settings. 3. Restore using DFU. So do not repeat my mistake and do not waste your time - it won't help.
  4. In my case 2 apps always drain battery. WhatsApp and Locator.

Same issue as everyone else. I upgraded from 13 pro max to 14 pro max and totally regret it. I have tried all the fixes and nothing. My battery drains so fast even when I’m not using it. My 13 pro max had twice the amount of battery life which was the best in the world!! What happen Apple? Shouldn’t the 14 pro max be the same battery time? So disappointing it must be the software, please fix Apple. Waste of money…. need to go back to 13 pro max as that was the king in battery, definitely a downgrade to 14 pro max!!!

I’ll try shutting off contacts to iCloud but this is absolutely ridiculous. I’ve spend hours researching and turning off every possible thing to stop this dreaded battery drain. Now I only have photos on automatic iCloud backup. This is maddening. My phone drains 10% per hour with very minimal running in the background. I’ve tried all the work around tricks to get more out of the battery. People will say 10 hours of battery life is good but that’s not what I paid for. I’m dreading to call AT&T tomorrow because they are just going to suggest everything I’ve already done. At this point I just want the phone swapped out. I’ve used iPhones exclusively since they came out and this is very disappointing. I just bought a 30v because it took 8 hours to charge from zero to 100% yesterday with my 12v charging cube. Rapid battery drain and extremely slow to charge. Hopefully the 30v charger at least solves the slow charging.

I am beside myself as well. I've never had a battery drain after an update and yes, they pushed this one hard. It's disgraceful that this was not one of the issues addressed on any online discussion or article. I did my research because I always do so thoroughly before an update. I am a looong time Apple gal and frankly, I'm going to check out Android, because this is not acceptable. Hey Apple, get it fixed.....
