iCloud Syncing Paused

I’ve been in contact with my CSR who is keeping abreast about of this for me. The sync problem, apparently, is more pervasive than just iCloud. They are still working on it. Or so I’m told.

Rebooting my phone and finding a location in the house with more bars solved the problem for me. Reception at home varies from 1 bar to 4 bars depending upon where I am in the apartment. If you can find out where the antennae are for your supplier, standing closer to that location should help. Relying on Wi-Fi works best if you have your own broadcast point in-house.

thanks for the hint, it totally worked and seems actually self explanatory, now if Apple could just place a link in messages (or any other apps that may experience the same icloud sync pause)

Just to share my experience with New Iphone15 ProMax that have the same issue and I was supported by Apple support team and we tried all what mentioned in below and the last thing we find its a bug in IOS 17.4.1 and its a fake message , since I did a restore to other Iphone 15 and it was sync successfully even it was showed " iCloud Syncing Paused".

so as per Apple support, I will wait till next version IOS update .

Ive tried this solution but it wont let me now turn it back on again the syncing. Like literally u try and move it to green (on) and it wont go back on. So i guess in a way i fixed the syncing issues as now it isnt even trying. But now i have a new issue. I cnt turn it back on. I want it syncing…

The problem is with photos 'syncing paused for 12 items no internet connection'.

Reboot no help.

Not helpful when the issue is syncing files not Messages.

Microsoft is a little better, but not much. OneDrive has syncing issues too, it synchronized for weeks and then all my files ended up in the recycle bin cause it had an error on the cloud side.

As per Floydius, try starting a sync proc from Settings\Apple ID\app name. It worked for my sync problem with Messages.

Floydius, thanks for that recommendation. Worked like a charm AND in record time(2-3 minutes).

Called Apple support. Three different people had no explanation and fix. Sad.

I don’t show an option for turning the sync on or off, it does have a “sync now” option, and I keep hitting it but it just flips back to “sync paused”
