AirPods Pro 2 engraving not showing on screen

Hi,

i ordered some new AirPods Pro, the new second generation, and I let them engrave with my name. Apple says, while connecting, or opening the case, it should show a picture of the case, with my name on it. It does not. It only shows a standard case without engraving.

i did delete the AirPods, and connected them again. Worked great, but still no engraving on the screen. Is this a known bug, or am I doing something wrong?

Hi,

It is fixed for some time now, but only after I contacted Apple about it. They told me to delete the AirPods from my Apple account, in my phone, and then add them again.

First they told me it should work, but my AirPods would not connect like they should, so I felt like I was getting only more trouble. But I told the lady to wait a second, and deleted my AirPods again. After linking them again, it worked like a charm. Since them no problems at all.

So you could try this, and maybe it will work. If not, contact Apple support!

I think it is possible you need beta software agreement on you phone. I just watched a video that someone has an option to enable the engraving to show. But I don’t know yet how to enable beta or just wait for the next update.

i got my airpod last week with my name engraved on it ..till now the pop up animation is not showing my engraved text ..instead plain case is showing ..i contacted apple support but they also dont know anything about issue ...anyone?anyone please help me to solve the issue...i had reset the airpod,removedd from find my and added again ..tried all kind of stuff still it is not showing up

Me too. Tried so many time and with b-eta. My AirPods have initials (2x) and a emoji. Any idea if issues are due to this, ie not just letters or numbers, or just emoji on its own. So frustrating. I even returned my first pair as didn’t work, and Apple Support appeared to have no knowledge of this issue. I don’t see this ever being resolved.

Same problem on my iPhone 13. Got some AirPods Pro 2 as well for my bday, and then all of a sudden the engraving disappeared. Tried doing the forget and pair method but that did nothing but took 5 minutes of my life I’ll never get back 😒

Got the same problem and Apple service is useless after they advise all these steps still not working I feel like I throw in the bin£250

if I knew it before buying I wouldn't have bought them

looks like a big bug with the latest batch of airpods.

Either with that or with the software updates

I did to then they said to wait for the update . But later after updating to 16.4, nothing changed

Got mine today, software is currently 16.4, unpaired and paired like 10 times, the engraving still wont show up =_=

After updating IOS 16.4, engraving still not appear on screen. Showing engraving on screen was only reason to buy my AirPods Pro 2 on apple website without any discount. This very disappointing. 😡
