AirPods Pro 2 engraving not showing on screen

Hi,


i ordered some new AirPods Pro, the new second generation, and I let them engrave with my name. Apple says, while connecting, or opening the case, it should show a picture of the case, with my name on it. It does not. It only shows a standard case without engraving.


i did delete the AirPods, and connected them again. Worked great, but still no engraving on the screen. Is this a known bug, or am I doing something wrong?

Hi,


It is fixed for some time now, but only after I contacted Apple about it. They told me to delete the AirPods from my Apple account, in my phone, and then add them again.


First they told me it should work, but my AirPods would not connect like they should, so I felt like I was getting only more trouble. But I told the lady to wait a second, and deleted my AirPods again. After linking them again, it worked like a charm. Since them no problems at all.


So you could try this, and maybe it will work. If not, contact Apple support!

Following the release of iOS 16.4.1 to the public on Monday, Apple is now rolling out a firmware update for the second- and third-generation AirPods, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max. Today’s updates follow firmware updates that were released for the AirPods family in January.


I found this on the internet, is it possible when you have bought the airpods in march( like me) the firmware update is yet to come for the airpods family march after the update for the february family???

I see. I think i need to trust that statement. I wonder why some of the agent on support didn’t know that this feature existed on the product. They made some report unsolved. I hope it will fix soon. That feature also the reason why i preferred to purchased my APP 2 from apple store online even i need to wait a couple of days to received it rather than buying on physical store.😔😔

I am having the same issue. Saved up for ages to get these and finally with B’day money combined got them, however engraving not appearing. Called Customer Service but they could not and did not help at all. I have tried removing them, re-pairing, forgetting, checked iPhone cloud backup is on etc, tried everything lots of times but no success. Very disappointed. Should I return these, is it faulty AirPods or software? I am guessing not everyone is affected.
