I apparently have a 28 digit recovery key on my iPad Pro and everyone tells me I’m screwed because I’ll never be able to get anything off of it again or use the Apple ID again I just wanna reset so I can put a new Apple ID on it. But even Apple says it’s impossible.

When the Recovery Key was set-up, the instructions made clear that the Key needed to be recorded elsewhere, or printed and securely stored, should it be needed at a later data. If you have lost the recovery key, then you may have a problem; if you have forgotten your AppleID credentials - and your recovery key - you may be permanently locked out.
