Airpods pro 2 disconnecting when answering call

I face the same issues. When I receive a call, I will hear a weird airy sound on my left airpod. After about 10 seconds, the AirPods Pro 2 will reconnect and I am able to hear and be heard.

I noticed that it only happens when receiving normal calls. FaceTime and other VoIP applications are not affected.

if you’re still on call with Apple Support, let them know that it is only configured and the Bluetooth gets disconnected specially on VoIP calls (Snapchat / WhatsApp) when VPN is not turned on.

me too, i am having 14 pro and its still getting disconnected on 5E135. I believe it was working fine in 5E133 as my ap2 were working fine for a month after getting continously disconnected during the version 5B59 and 5B5* versions.

I have an iPhone 13 and and an XS. the Airpod Pro 2nd Gen works seamlessly on my iPhone 13 but not on the XS. Especially when receiving an incoming call - Though the phone shows the airpods connected, I dont hear any sound on the airpods. only after fiddling around with the bluetooth or by toggling the speaker/airpods during the call -it gets connected. This is really very annoying. As I update this post, I have already chatted with the Apple customer care agents and have escalated it to their senior support engineer. Expecting a call back in the next 3-4 hours. Will post a reply if I see a resolution.

Same with me Iphone xs and airpods pro 2 , issue not fixed in ios 17

I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that the Airpod pros are connected to multiple devices. Perhaps they disconnect from the iPhone to connect with another device when picking up a phone call.

I bought airpods pro 2 when it was launched and since than i m facing many issue like main is airpods get disconnected or blank at the time of answering any incoming call and there is random disconnection. I m using iphone xs max

My AirPods Pro 2nd Gen keeps disconnecting when making a VoIP call and this issue is happening all time. Does anyone facing this issue.

I just reported this issue to apple and they created a case against it. Also the battery percentage doesn’t show properly in Battery Widget which I guess an issue with every AirPods Pro 2nd get user.

You’re taking refund that good but I think it is a software issue which will get fixed may be in iOS 16.4 or later updates.

I also have AirPods Pro 1st Gen which works flawlessly. In AirPods Pro 2nd Gen there is another issue in battery widget which doesn’t show the correct behaviour.

I hope it should get resolved soon. Although I also noticed that now bluetooth (AirPods Pro 2nd Gen) is not getting disconnected very frequently on VoIP.

Did anyone experience the same?

I am on latest iOS 16.3.1

So has anyone found a solution to this? Sucks apple hasn't addressed this, not like either is a new product at this point.

Im also an a iPhone XS with iOS 16.4.1, Airpod Pro firmware 5E133. Every... single... incoming call... results in dropped connection and wont reconnect for a good 15 seconds +.

So every call starts with "hello, can you hear me... can you hear me now.." etc

This is on my work device so not a very professional way to start a conversation with a client.

I've hard reset both my iPhone and the airpods. I've disconnected/reconnected the airpods several times. I've tried (as someone here suggested) turning off Auto Ear Detection. Nothing works.

Luckily was able to return the AirPods as Ive only had them for a week. I wont be getting another pair since it sounds like they'll just do the same thing. Maybe once I finally upgrade my XS next year or so I'll get them again.

Outside of this issue I loved them, sound was excellent, ANC was great for buds, great battery life. Really freaking annoying as I wanted to keep them badly!

If this gets resolved please, please, please come back and post here so those of us that returned them but would like to own them can know.

The AirPods Pro 2nd Generation still getting discounted after 5E135 update when making voice call (VoIP).

I am using iPhone 14 Pro Max (iOS 16.4.1 (20E252))

When making a VoIP call using (WhatsApp or any 3rd party application) the AirPods Pro keeps disconnecting.

Anyone facing this?

tried various options suggested by the users but nothing works. Apple please solve it. there is no point buying such an expensive product. It works well with device of apple care so they are not ready to listen to the problem.

Just wasted 249$ on airpod pro 2nd gen.it continue disconnecting during phone call answering ..24$ earbud works well than apple airpod pro ..i am regretting investing money on this apple pro .i had waited for update ios17 ,though it would solve this problem but still apple havent fixed it ..shame on apple
