I use Iphone 13 pro and from past 1 month my face id wasn’t working properly, sometimes my phone use to unlock but sometimes it didn’t. And when I reset my face id and try to make a new face id I can’t register my face id It keeps on saying move your phone little lower and no matter how much I put my phone lower it doesn’t works

Mine was a hardware issue but hopefully yours isn’t.
Was having intermittent issues with FaceID (also started out of nowhere a few days ago). Luckily I live close to a few apple stores so brought it in - the tech ran a diagnostic and found an issue with the TrueDepth sensor on the front camera.
Was replaced within an hour with AppleCare for free, but it’ll set you back ~$250 without insurance.
I’m having this same issue out of the blue. I’ve tried everything suggested but still unsuccessful.
There’s gotta be some glitch with a recent update. I have the 13 pro. Clear glass protector, haven’t changed it recently. No cracks. This is ridiculous.
I’ve tried updating, rebooting… same problem as everyone else!
I updated the software to 16.2 on 13 Pro and this problem happened to me as well. I’ve tried everything and can’t get the camera to stop reading move camera lower..et..to not prevail.
Same with mine, voice note recording issue aswell. iOS 16 messing around.
I've had the exact same problem. iphone 13 pro max, when I updated to os 16 face id no longer worked. This sure seems like an iOS problem. Apple should be taking accountability.
apparently it is a know issue by apple developers. And if they tell you to update to 16.3, that will not work either. Maybe they will fix it in the next update. not a happy camper

I did this too! Just hi-fived the front camera and was able to set up Face ID again!
Smacking the front screen where the front camera is at onto the palm of my hand is the only thing that works for me.
Un-freaking-believable. Smacked it with my palm. Went to set up the Face ID. Was finally able to set it up and can now unlock my phone. So weird.
I cannot believe after months of trying to set up Face ID and keep it working that all I had to do was smack the front of my 13 Pro Max!! It worked! Thank you!
Slap your screen really hard while “positioning your face” it worked for me. How ridiculous!
Omg it worked for me too! I had to slap it a few times but the third one worked!
Voila It fixed mine too after I gave a tight slap at the front camera. Strange!! haha.
