What does this warning mean?

I recently downloaded the Messanger app but when I open the app, I get this box. I've entered my Apple ID for my Macbook but that doesn't seem to be the password it's expecting.

The message means whatever messenger app that is, it is trying to use a password that is stored in your keychain; the password it is requesting is your login password for your admin account to unlock your keychain.

whether that is a legitimate request from that app, I cannot tell you.

Yes. And to answer Barney-15E questions, I have been using my admin password to unlock my keychain passwords but the app is not recognizing the password.

I will mark this thread solved. I wanted validation that the password it was asking to input was indeed my admin password. I can access facebook messanger through Facebook.

BTW, Old Toad, your link just took me to your old toad logo, which is cool, but I was expecting the link to go to a tech sheet.
