I just purchased several songs from iTunes & they dl into my library. when I opened my Serato none of the new purchases + some older purchases did not transfer into my Serato library. is there a glitch I'm unaware of?

Do you have an Apple Music subscription? If so, make sure that the Apple Music versions have been removed. Re-download purchased versions if necessary. If not, try removing download then re-download as there may be a fault in the original downloads.
