Trying to get 'dock' and 'menu' to appear on the same screen.

HI, I have a fairly new macbook 16" (2021) which used to have the menu and app icons all on the same screen. Now I have to run my mouse down and up to see each one. Is there an adjustment? I even have to scroll to see the full picture of a video. I've searched high and low for a solution:) (coming off of Windows)

perhaps you are referring to iPhone Home-screen-like 'Mission Control', which is an App you can launch.
