Every once in a while, i will be in iMessage and will get a low toned “doo-doon” sound come from my phone despite my phone being on mute. It’s usually when I enter a chat with someone or go into or out of the information page. This only started with ios16 launch a few months ago. Anyone experience this or know what it is?

I totally forgot to post when I figured out how to fix it! Go to your settings, then messages, then toggle off the “raise to listen” option. When you raise your phone, it’s attempting to start recording a voice message to insert into the text. Those steps completely solved the issue. Goodluck! 😊
It would alway happen when I close a chat because I tilt my phone to reach the back button.
Mine does that, too. And the screen goes black and then quickly come back to text. It’s like it’s taking or something.
Yes! I think it has something to do with recording a voice memo too but can't figure out what's triggering it! So confusing!
Yeah, I tried everything. I have no clue what it is I even disabled voice memo all of it and disabled like everything still does it.
Has anyone found a resolve for this? I did disable raise to wake and the sound persists.

But it happens with text messages not audio messages

I hear a sound and then get a message popping up saying I'm connected. There's an "i" to the right of the message. When I click on that, it brings up my contact info. What's that about?
In my case, the sound only happens when I “like” a live on tiktok. Only then, nowhere else. Not sure if it’s the same issue as everyone else’s here, but it describes about the same noise.
