App limits continually disappear in Screen Time

Apple - This daily vanishing of my kids screen time limits is totally ridiculous and totally unacceptable. This problem has been occurring for at least a month and likely longer. I have no doubt that Apple has been well aware of this problem for at least several weeks, yet the problem has not been fixed. Why exactly is that? Frustrating is a gigantic underestimate of how Apple has responded to this problem. Millions of parents have put our trust in you Apple to help limit our kids exposure to the toxicity of social media, and you are COMPLETELY FAILING us parents by not fixing this problem. PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM NOW! Thank you.

Our app limits reappeared out of the blue yesterday. By that time though, my sons and I had already discussed an alternative course of action which is to review our app time weekly as a family. They are 13 & 15 so they do have to learn this themselves and a review will make it visual so they can be accountable and learn to regulate on their own. The screen time usage even shows how long they were on specific websites. If they were younger, I would still be super ****** about this "disappearing app limit" glitch. I have an iPhone 12 with iOS version 15.6.

Agree, I have tried this and a dozen other things. Sometimes lasts 3 days before disappearing, but ALWAYS disappears.

Apple, this is UNACCEPTABLE from a company of your quality. Please fix this KNOWN problem. Now! Thanks

This disappearing Screen Time is now entering the ludicrous zone. Why don’t you fix this problem Apple? It’s been going on for at least 3-4 months and I know that you know about it.

Is it too difficult a problem for the great Apple to fix? Ya, I didn’t think so. So why don’t you fix it? I really hope you are not taking orders from Xi, that would be highly disappointing to say the least. 🤷‍♂️.

i have had this issue with my childrens’ devices for a couple months now. Why is this still an issue scrolling back months and why don’t I see a single Apple reply??? This is not acceptable! Please fix this, we parents really need your help here!

If Apple does not fix this by the end of the month, I am going to switch to Samsung. I will then find a Lawer who wants to make a name for themselves. I smell class action and child endangerment charges.

Just spoke with Apple Support via the Chat option and it has been confirmed its a known issue and Apple are working on it........ No ETA for FIX

@Apple Support - It would be very helpful if you could make a formal statement on this.

This has been going on for months now in our house and I’m ready to abandon iPhones and get them a Samsung instead.

I’m spending over an hour a day micromanaging my kids phones because parental controls can be worked around with the click of a button, or will just turn off on their own for no apparent reason.

There’s no reason that it should take months to fix a glitch for parental controls but security for kids clearly isn’t very high on the priority list.

We have also beed having these issues for several months. Thanks for the tips here, we will try the workarounds.

no respons from Apple support is really poor behavior. This is very frustrating for many parents and mots likley causing a lot of stress between family members worldwide.

This issue resolved for us a few weeks ago? ... but it came back again after iOS 16.5. Now the app limits disappear every day. I can't predict when it will happen. It's so beyond frustrating and I can't believe that Apple continues to ignore this problem.

Well, I’m kind of happy to see I’m not the only one, but this is insane. The app limits keep disappearing, I set it a couple of days ago then I see my daughters playing for hours… this is specially bad now during summer vacations. This has to be fixed, it is extremely frustrating.

Sorry but I don’t think you are having the same issue. You are talking about age limit, which when turned on, removes some apps. The issue discussed in this thread is the fact the app time limit disappears after you set it up.

In my opinion, Apple is clearly aware of the issue but doesn’t care. I truly believe that or it would have been fixed. It’s deal with it and try to remember to check every now and then or add a different parent control. Those are the options right now.

mid august 2023, still screen time problems.

I set the app limits for my daughters. A day later they are set completely different. They end up with so many app limits, that they can't use their phone normally. With these issues we simply can't use the Screen Time feature.

Same issue as everyone. Numerous fights and trust issues with 13yo. Apple has screen time that doesn’t work. Beyond frustrating!!!!! No solution I’ve found. Apps function after downtime or time limit. Apple should pay parents for pain and suffering due to this utter horse ****.
