I have four kids with devices. All are updated to latest software. I have app limits set for all of them. Almost daily I go in and find that the app limits just disappear. Screen Time is basically useless in our house. Please fix this!

Well. After spending about 30 minutes with a Senior Advisor, we may have identified where the bug is and how to work around it.
The bug appears to be related to making changes in the “Family” section at the top of Settings. Don’t make changes there. Make changes directly in the Screen Time section a little bit further down in Settings. That seems to have fixed our issue.
Select Settings -> Screen Time. Select the child member in that first screen and ONLY make screen time changes there. So far so good for us.
The advisor also observed the issue in Family section and has put in a defect order. Maybe a fix will come, but at least there appears to be a workaround.
Completely agree with this causing trust issues. Have uncovered every work around, and tried every solution listed in EVERY discussion… the app limits do not work. This cannot be on oversight. It’s not a versioning problem. I have yet to accidentally been given free access to music apps, paid subscriptions, or premium content… but somehow this always keeps breaking? Just can’t engineer a way to shut down access to Snapchat or TikTok? And I’m finally writing, years of this battle with young teens after checking again tonight only to find all app limits are completely gone. There is no way this is an accident or engineering mishap. Apple knows, this has been reported for years. This is not a bug, it’s an intended feature.
I'm a single person household that wanted to set some app limits for myself just as a way to keep track of time more easily and I never touched the Family section but I'm still having the bug (i.e. that the app limits go away).
I am having the same issue. I’ve resorted to setting a daily calendar reminder to check the settings. It’s really quite annoying.

I AGREE!!! Like this could cause our children to access EVERYTHING they have no business being on or seeing. Including purchases in the App Store, etc.

I too just moved moved to an iphone 14. Either way it is completely unreliable at this point, even with app limits and time limits expired on the device child (on a iphone 12) can use at times.

That's great that updating to 16.2 worked for you. No luck with us. PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM APPLE. Ignoring this problem is something I would expect from Microsoft, not from you Apple.

That would make no difference to me unfortunately as I only ever make the changes directly in Screen time. So this won't work for everyone. Glad it worked for you though/
Same here...I've only ever made changes in Screen Time and set app limits for each child separately. It will stick for a bit but then disappear, then reappear suddenly. Not reliable.
