Copy text from Word to Mail without extra spacing between lines?

A lot of people asked this question and there were a bunch of, frankly, arrogant or unhelpful answers.


When copying text from Word to Mail, Mail adds spaces between the text lines. Creating plain text or trying other things in Word does not help.


The solution is to copy the text into Notes (or likely some other programs) first and then copy it from there to Mail. Voila! No extra spaces between lines.

That is not limited to Word and Mail. I get the same thing on two differecne Macs when pasting text created in TextEdit or stored in Stickies to the text entry box in these forums or mail messages


Rather than adding an intermediate step, have you tried the optional paste commands OPTION-COMMAND-V and OPTION-SHIFT-COMMAND-V. Here are their funcitons:
