Can earwax cause damage to the body of an AirPod Pro?

I’m aware that the AirPods Pro (2nd generation) unveiled last year were/are confirmed to be water and sweat resistant. My questions are: Can earwax cause any damage/scratches, dents, and microscopic abrasions to the body of an AirPod Pro? Does earwax fall under the umbrella of what AirPods Pro are invincible to? Is there anything else I should look out for?
