How to find folder path of a library open in FCP?

If you hover the mouse pointer over the library name in the sidebar, and wait a few seconds, it tells you the path and file name of the library. Is there some way to display this without the hovering bit (which is clumsy and doesn't always work)?

Doing this on my old 27" inch Mac running

macOS 10.14.6 (Mojave with all patches)

FCP 10.4.6

Is there a way to do it with the current version (which might not be as useful to me)?

TIA!

Well, with the "hover" method, you move the pointer to the library name and then carefully let go of the mouse. Then wait 2 or 3 seconds, and if the stars are aligned right, it displays the path name and file name in tiny font. Might be easier or harder on a touchpad. Helps if you have a wireless mouse. But I find it hard to do, and the result is hard to read.

So the answer is to right-click the library name. Of course! I should have thought of it. Writer's-block equivalent! Or a brain f**t. (Yes, that ends with a t. This site is rated G+++, so I put in the asterisks.)

Would still prefer a keyboard shortcut, like Cmd-J, which tells you other things abut the library.

Thanks again.

I'd like a keyboard shortcut to get the project properties menu. You have to do a Cmd-J followed by clicking the Modify button.

I'd also like a fix for the Finder. Hard to drag windows. sometimes doesn't work at all. Sometimes it minimizes! <Ow, my tongue!> Yeah, it's not Final Cut. But you sort of asked. Emphasis on "sort of." Just started yesterday/really early morning. Logging in and out fixed it -- for less than 12 hours! Yeah, I'm still on Monterey, as the Snazzy guy said he was avoiding upgraded most of his macs due to the new System Settings (or whatever the new name is) being . . . uh . . . not so good. So I'll wait too!

Ah. Maybe I had the brightness too low. Or I was too groggy! Also, on my new Mac (M1), it only takes a second. Much better. For some reason, perhaps in part due to the difficulty of getting it to work at all, the 2 to 3 seconds seems like an eternity. Yeah, I'm sometimes pretty impatient. The new M1 is pretty good though! Just having problems with the Finder and the grayed out shortcuts. The right-click and Reveal in Finder is better. (Haven't really used it yet. Just tried it, and it was bedtime).

How often do you use that? As far as I can tell, there is no easy way to implement that, unless CommandPost allows for something. But modifying project settings is something that ought to be rare, and a single extra click once in a while will probably take much less than the time it would take to conjure a script to eliminate it...

As usual, if your mac is not working correctly, restart is the first thing. It seemed to help, but only temporarily.

The next step is to run Etrecheck so we can see if something is amiss.

Maybe your drive is getting full? Maybe you installed something that is causing problems? In each case, the Etrecheck report is the best way for us to have a clue.

Well, in the early days I used Project Properties a lot.

Later, sometimes I just wanted to take a peek at the project settings. ****, there are a zillion shortcuts in FCP. Why not one for this? Some controls are hidden completely. Like the mask icon on the color panels. Who knows what other things we might be missing.

As regards the Finder problem: (Oh, I tried relaunching it, too. No good.) Restart it. Well, logging out and in fixed it for a few hours. I guess I should try an actual restart. Oh, then there's the Safe Boot bit. Not sure if that ever fixed anything. Might've once. Maybe I just have too many FF tabs open! (^_^)

Yes, my disk is over 90% full. I tried cleaning up by moving many double-digit FCP libraries and exports to another drive. No effect. Yes, I checked the Trash. Only about single-digit GB total.

Now it's actually gone higher! Maybe it's those pesky on-disk local TM backups. Actually, looking at it now I see 299 GB "purgeable"! So maybe the fix worked after all (I have 1 TB internal drive)! Maybe the EtreCheck Clean button will nuke that. Disk Utility doesn't show purgeable, just used and available, and available is 70 GB.

Recent installations:

But the problem started yesterday or in the wee hours (I was up very late!).

Will try your suggestions are report back. (Biting tongue again!)
