setting up finger print will not work appleM1 Studio Ventura 13.02

tried dozen times following instructions at apple support to add finger print. tried different finger even. can anyone help? nothing happens after pressing on & off button on computer.

new computer, new Magic Keyboard. Apple M1 Studio running and updated Ventura 13.2

Worth it... well that is up to you.



If this is a brand new Mac and it is not working I would be tempted to return it before the 14 day return period expires.

That 14-day return/exchange policy only applies in countries where you can buy DIRECT from Apple

My first step would have Apple Store assist you over the counter to rule out hardware.

It would seem if you have the Keyboard w/TouchID it would work as expected—compatibility is there for <Mac13,1> Studio M1 both Max / Ultra

I have TouchID on my MBP and have never used it...

Follow these articles. Note that you need to rest your finger on the button while it scans your fingerprint, and once setup, you also have to rest your finger on the button until it provides a green checkmark of scanning success. Just tapping the Touch ID button will cause either prior activity to fail.

Try plugging in the keyboard with the cable connection and try again, after reboot the computer...
