iPhone Hotspot keeps disconnecting

iPhone's made hotspot only works steady with Apple computer. As soon as you use it with any other computer, it keeps randomly disconnecting over and over again. No matter if you keep your screen on or off, phone is in low power mode or not, if you have the latest iPhone or not, etc. It is impossible to do any quality work on your laptop using iPhone's hotspot. It has nothing to do with software updates or anything like that as I am always running the latest version of iOS. I have read on the internet so many threads about this. It is something that Apple just refuses to fix for years. Or does that on purpose.. Whatever the case is - it is absolutely not nice, as it resembles the quality of Apple's products and service. So frustrated and disappointed.....

I have an I phone 13 pro max and was facing this issue! All I did was turned on the hotspot and turned off the option maximize compatibility and connected my hotspot and it works well! Try this and hope it helps all those who are facing this issue.

I have a similar issue. A connected Android tablet breaks the connection every 15 seconds and a Lenovo laptop with Windows 11 is always connected but without Internet. And provide a mistake about being unable to connect to DHСP server. What is awful functionality? This is my first iPhone, before that I used android for 13 years and never had such problems. :(

Yeah I have to agree with the above statement comment and opinions. It’s truly much more irritating than I can even begin to put into words that every other year since 2010 I have forked out $1000-$1600 to Apple for their recently released top of the line technology that is is said to be a device that holds inside it something so advance and so amazing that it will change the industry forever. And I will say this was true for about half or so of the new iPhones I purchased from Apple. But that all being said, I was still extremely upset when I would connect another device to the new iPhones hotspot network only to find out 2 minutes later, the firmware or file I was downloadig on this secondary device was randomly cut short and caused a download restart all because my new iPhone decided to erruptly stopped it’s hotspot connector it was offering for no apparent reason whatsoever. I truly expected this issue to have been fixed and or a solution to Be issued in one of the 6 different brand new iPhones I purchased. Well over $6500 out of pocket and I can’t get a 8-10 year old hotspot issue fixed on my $1500 smartphone but don’t worry because the new iPhone you got has an updated high quality resolution and frame rated screen so that should be enough to overlook apples laziness right? I think not. And it ****** me off to be quiet honest with you all. I’m not a rich man by anyone’s standards so spending $1200-$1600 on anything is typically a “**** *FF**G NO”. Yet still I did confine myself it would be worth the money spent and over and over again I’m proven wrong in the end. HEY APPLE! please don’t both releasing any new models until you fix the ones you have out already. How about that for some basic common sense and common customer service curiosity

I tried all of the proposed workarounds, including my own tips and nothing works.

Neither compatibility mode nor focus, Bluetooth, USB connection, traffic in the background, etc.

Nothing helps. Currently it’s so bad that the connection is terminated every two to three minutes.

Probably just the usual “bad luck combination” of devices and software.

I am not amused >:-/

EDIT: No, disabling auto locking also does nothing.

Yes me too! I have an iPhone 15 pro. I’ve paid a fortune for this phone and turns out it isn’t equipped enough to run a basic thing like a hotspot. Doesn’t matter if I connect it with another iPhone or a Mac or even a windows machine, the hotspot just drops after a few minutes. Apple really needs to pull up their socks when it comes to providing value for money. Their products have just gone downhill and yes, their customer agents know nothing about technical issues. Android was much much better

I am suffering through the same, its so annoying and frustrating that you turn off the display and it gets disconnected from Windows laptop, what a shame. Apple should either remove hotspot option from iPhone or explicitly state that either it only works with Apple products or I have to keep my iPhone display on while connected, sometimes its hard to keep up with this Apple ecosystem problem.

it should work globally with all acceptable protocols.

This issue is beyond annoying, it affects all iPhone models (personally I have suffered it on the iPhone 11, 13 Pro and 14) and it does not matter what kind of device is using the hotspot (I have experienced it on the iPad, iPad Pro, MacBook Pro M1 Ultra and other iPhones) having the latest software installed makes no difference. It is truly nerve-racking.

I disagree it’s a carriers issue. I have an iPhone 7 and never had this issue. Upgrade to iPhone 15 Pro Max and I’m having this annoying issue. I’m on a trip right now using another carrier (Orange Networks in Europe).I’m getting hotspot from my fianse who got the orange SIM card and she enable hotspot for me. And still have this annoying issue. I use iPhone 7 and all worked fine. Common apple!!! Fix this!!!! ASAP!!!!
