How to simplify photo viewing?

After my 80yr old Family member that lives across the country, knocked her Windows Surface tablet in the Sink, My Cousin bought her, an apple Tablet, I started using Share photos from my iPhone to her tablet via iCloud for Family functions and holidays.

she has very shaky hands, viewing photos on the Apple tablet is essentially impossible,

can I set it up with the customization settings like the Windows tablet?

windows have a lot of settings for photo viewing from swiping to tapping the screen, and each motion can be customized to go forward or backward. I set up the Windows Tablet before mailing it to her.

my cousin decided to go with an apple tablet,(I paid for)that she can't hold and swipe, even with hand-strap, the pop up information screen, in her words "Annoying as ****"

Is there anyway to customize the ipad screen, to use, tap instead of swiping?

The only reason my aunt hasn't broken the iPad is its got an indestructible case and hand strap but She hates the swipe gestures, and pop up photo information.

I've tried finding this information elsewhere, am sure there's no way, of editing the user interface to eliminate the pop up information, I just figured I ask here; to get the "How to" or "it can't be done" answer.

If it can't be done Shes getting a Windows Surface Tablet, with OneDrive. And My Cousin is buying it.

...

If you have difficulties with hand tremors, dexterity, or fine motor control, you can adjust how the iPad touchscreen responds to tap, swipe, and touch-and-hold gestures. You can have iPad recognize faster or slower touches and ignore multiple touches. You can also prevent iPad from waking when you touch the screen, or turn off Shake to Undo if you unintentionally shake iPad.
