WD MY PASSPORT not recognized macbook

Hi, I have had a Wd my passport for many years and had no problems until one day it stopped working on my mac. It is completely unrecognized by it and whatever I do I cannot get it to recognize or see it on Disk Utility. However when I plug it in the light does turn on just doesn’t blink. I have tried it on multiple windows devices had no problem. It is also formatted for mac so thats not the issue. Does anyone know what I could do?

If it is a USB-C Mac, be sure to have an AC or Mac power adapter powered hub. The power onboard the Mac laptops is generally not enough to connect an external hard drive.

Are two hubs I'm aware that fit the bill.
