Trust/don't trust just keeps flashing when I connect my iPhone

trust/don't trust just keeps flashing no matter what I do. I just want to upload photos onto my iMac so I can delete them from my phone>. How do I make this **** thing work.? I don't want to use iCloud or google photos

How do I get Trust/don't trust to slow down so I can hit trust? I want to upload photos from my iPhone to my iMac so I can free up photo space on my phone. I don't want to use iCloud or google photos. I HATE being forced to use those things. You always seem to have to pay for more storage etc. So frustrated!
