Cant redeem the free 6 month apple music free trail from airpods

Hi, I recently bought AirPods pro second generation and went to apple music to redeem the 6-month offer it required me to input my credit card into my apple id so I cancelled it and went to get my credit card. When I returned the promotion was gone and it doesn't appear again.

Any help would be appreciated

Thank you

Hello Takhdeer,

We'd like to provide you with a few steps that may be able to assist you with redeeming your Apple Music free trial:

"How to redeem your offer:

 2. Pair your eligible audio device to your iPhone or iPad.

 3. Open the Apple Music app on your iPhone or iPad and sign in with your Apple ID. If the offer doesn't appear immediately after launching the app, go to the Listen Now tab where it will appear.

4. Tap Get 6 months free."

You can follow this link and select "Get Started" option: Get Apple Music free for 6 months.

If you can't redeem your promotion for an Apple subscription, follow these steps:

1. "Make sure that you're eligible

To see if the promotional trial is still current, visit apple.com/promo. Most offers are available for only a limited time. To make sure that the device or subscription that you purchased qualifies for the offer, read the terms and conditions.

2. Check if you or a family member already redeemed the offer

If you or a family member already redeemed the offer, you can't redeem it again.

3. Update the software on your device

4. Sign in on the eligible device

If your eligible device is a Mac and you've just set it up, you might need to wait at least 4 hours for the offer to appear.

If you're still unable to redeem your offer, we suggest that you reach out to Apple directly. You can follow this link to connect with them: Get Support

Hello. I encountered the same problem, i also claimed the free 3 months apple music when you purchased a new iphone. I also recently bought a Pro gen 2. I just contacted the apple support and explained to them what happened, and I showed them the comment of devinboy88 posted in this discussion. And they honored it and gave me 6 months free apple music.

Sounds like great customer service provided by Apple giving you a compassionate resolution that you may not have been eligible for. Since you already used the free 3 months subscription when you purchased the iPhone, you would not be eligible for the 6 months free subscription with the AirPods, since it is for new customers only who have not used a previous free trial. It is noted in the promos Apple offers and detailed in the terms here:

https://www.apple.com/promo/pdf/EN_US_Apple_Music_Promo_121321.pdf

That explains why the offer did not show up for you. While others may not expect to see the same results as you, Apple does provide compassionate relief on a case by case basis. We see this for App Store refunds as well, where some may be approved and others won't when a user makes a request. Apple Customer Service +1

Can't redeem the free 6 month apple music free trail from airpods

Do you have the details of the offer and meet the eligibility requirements?

I know Best Buy has a 6 months free Apple Music offer and the redemption steps are different than the one offered by Apple. The current offer I see from Apple is for 3 months free, so not sure if you are seeing something different.

Not sure if this has anything to do with your issue. Because I tried the (disappointing) Apple Music Voice Plan last year, that disqualified me from the free six month trial of Apple Music that was offered for having purchased AirPods Pro. On the Voice Plan, Siri was rarely able to understand what music I was asking for, so I gave up quickly. I guess I'll never know what Apple Music is like.

Hey bro, 100% sympathetic to your case. I got into the same situation because of using the 1 month trial that led to me missing out on the 6 months promotion!

I am very unhappy about Apple’s service regarding Apple marketing about their 6 months Apple Music promotion for new Airpods purchased.

I purchased Airpods pro 2 on April 2023, but because I have clicked on 1 month free trial before, now they are not letting me to redeem the 6 months Apple Music promotion.

This promotion was one of my main considerations when purchasing Airpods.

Very disappointed about the way Apple hides conditions & don’t allow

users to redeem their eligible promotion!

It all depends on the Apple ID that was used for any previous free trial. There is no other way to be able to determine that each user has the opportunity to use only one free trial and if your son used yours, not sure why that would be a valid exception or even be enforceable. There just isn't a promotion that gives users who spend a certain amount on Apple products an additional free trial.

It does bring up a valid suggestion of offering Loyalty Perks. It is not something they currently offer, but may be a great idea.

There will be no charge as long as you cancel the free trial at least 24 hours before the trial period ends. I suggest setting a reminder so you do not forget to avoid any charge. Also the free trial is only for users who have not used Apple Music before, either with a subscription or another free trial. If you have used it before, you will not be eligible to redeem the free trial offer.

That is a testament to the great customer service that Apple has provided you. It does not change the fact that the promos are specific to new subscribers and those that had previously used a free trial are simply not eligible. Other users are likely to not have the same outcome as each is taken on a case by case basis. There is no workaround to use multiple free trials, but as always you should contact Apple directly as you did for any concerns. Sometimes they will offer a compassionate resolution, but it should never be expected. We see the same thing for app refunds made in the App Store.

Enjoy Apple Music and good job Apple!

I tried same but they didn’t provided apple music premium, don’t know why.

You have already used a Music free trial, so you are not eligible for another offer.

It is the same as the refunds for apps/subscriptions, Even though all transactions in the App Store are final, in some cases Apple may offer a compassionate refund on a case by case basis, but it should never be expected. It does not mean everyone will be granted a refund when they make a request.

Just because someone else may have been able to use the trial even though they were not eligible, does not mean it is true for everyone. The policy is the same, that the promo is available to new subscribers only. In some cases, Apple may assist on a case by case basis, but it should never be expected.
