Missing the linking contacts feature in Contacts on Mac. Is it available on your Mac?

I've noticed that the linking contacts feature doesn't seem to be available on my Mac, even though it's mentioned in the Contacts user guide for macOS Ventura 13. I've tried linking my contacts on my iPhone, and it works fine, but it doesn't sync to my Mac. I would appreciate any feedback from other Mac users about whether this feature is available to you.

Contacts user guide: “In the list of contacts, select the cards you want to link, then choose Card > Link Selected Cards.”

Hi there TimofeyDeveloper,

Since linking contacts refers to when you have multiple cards for one contact across several accounts, are you able to link the contact cards as expected if you have the same contact card (name, number, email) in iCloud contacts as well as in Gmail contacts?

Also, does merging contacts work without issue on your Mac? This has more information on merging contacts as well: Merge contact cards in Contacts on Mac

If this continues to occur with the same contact card in multiple accounts, then Apple Support would be the best equipped to investigate this further. Reach out here: Get Support

Cheers!

Thank you for your reply! You're right. I didn't expect the contact linking feature to work differently on Mac and iPhone, which doesn't require a second account for it, and besides, it's not clearly indicated in the user guide either. 😕 Well, I added a Google account to Contacts and then tried linking the cards again, one from Google and one from iCloud. It worked. However, this just means that the feature overall needs to be refined if developers are putting a high priority on a consistent user experience across all Apple devices, in my humble opinion. Anyways, thanks again for your response. 😊
