iPhone redirect me to the Instagram app instead of starting a call

I have the same issue. When I offloaded instagram, I tried to call the same person and it opened Facebook messenger. What is happening?

I think Apple don’t have good solution for that.

This need to be fixed fast this update is horrible. These phones getting to be more and more of a hassle is job died. I might have to switch to Samsung now lol.

How did you clear the cache on your phone?

I've just tried off loading insta and the person I was trying too call went to

messenger instead of instagram, Great. Must be a bug in the new update

I have the same problem with my iPhone SE.

it happens with contacts and phone numbers brought up on an internet search (like restaurants and other businesses).

this just started occurring with the latest update.

Iphones are so so outdated that i feel like its of some ancient civilisation phone. And software glitches that can’t be fixed unless iPhone does so. Hence, i can certainly say that iphones are for the fools, of fools and by the fools.

I simply add Xfinity support phone number and name 'Xfinity supporr' (sp support) to iphone, it is clearly a phone element in record, save, dial and instagram opens, looks like a google hack. iphone 11 pro max ios 16.5.1

Same issue is happening with me . This is basically happening with any new contact, when i am trying to call them its redirecting me to Instagram . Even i am unable to reboot my iphone as well, i see the search button getting activate . This is started after the update 16.5.1(c). I have iPhone 14 pro

Same happening to me since yesterday.

Four days ago after updatevthe phone screen suddenly showing 'high temp iphone needs to cool down'

I closed all the back ground app refresh and that issue was resolved.

Now for last two days this redirecting to instagram is happening. It is not happening with all the contacts, but only those who do not have insta account with that number.

for about 2 days, and then it stopped by itself! My problem I had for a while is, even with the number in my contacts, text or calling the phone doesn't always shows calller ID just their number, but on the calls if I go into recent calls the name shows !

There is a glitch in the iphone lately, whenever I try to call the Instagram Instagram app just getting opened instead of direct calling on the contact. Most of my contact this issue is occurring, while in some it’s working normal. Is it cause of the latest update?

I am having this issue as well - when I press 'call' whilst in a contact is open Facebook Messenger instead of making the call. Every social media app I take off it just uses a different one. What have Apple done?

It is ever since after the new update, my calls are writing directly to Instagram. Please fix the update. There’s always something different with Apple issues first I have been having issues for years with any of the map products it keeps shutting down while I’m using and now it makes calls through somewhere else come on Apple couple of hours you have big-time big paid the developers can fix small things, right
