How to ask for a subscription refund when Apple ID does not show any record of it?

The app nebula took me $19 out of my bank account and I didn’t do the trial or signed up for a subscription and my Apple ID does not show and record of it but my bank account shows it was taken out. What do I need to do to get a refund?

I went onto the nebula website and was able to contact there customer support. They replied via email and after some negotiations I was able to secure a refund.

They will try to justify these charges and explain why they took them but if you stay adamant that you didn’t authorise this and they have been take in error you should get a refund. They tried to offer me 50% back at first but I refused and eventually got it all.

If you downloaded the app, it activates a free trial automatically which will renew into a paid subscription. You agree to this by downloading the app.

You can cancel the subscription however, and request a refund for it.

click here ➜ If you want to cancel a subscription from Apple - Apple Support

then here to request the refund ➜ Contact Apple Support to request a refund

Next time, make sure you cancel and free trials of apps you download if you don't want them renewing into laid subscriptions.

Urgent! Need help! - Fraud - Subject: Urgent: Unauthorized Charge of €39 by Nebula App

Hello everyone,

I hope this message finds you well. I urgently need your advice regarding an issue I’ve encountered with an unauthorized charge from Nebula app.

2 Days ago, a charge of €39 appeared on my Postepay bank card statement, identified as “PAY*APPNEBULA CO NICOSIA.” I want to emphasize that I did not authorize this transaction, nor have I ever subscribed to Nebula’s services. This charge appears to be unauthorized and potentially fraudulent.

I have already contacted Nebula’s customer service requesting an immediate refund of €39, but I am concerned about the next steps. Should I escalate this issue with my bank to dispute the charge? Any guidance or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your prompt assistance. M.

Since it appears as coming from Nebula directly, Apple is not involved in it in any way. Apple cannot provide any next steps. This is between you, Nebula and your Bank.

If you Nebula confirms cancellation, then its fine. Otherwise, you would need contact your bank and have them block any further chargers from Nebula.

This has nothing to do with Apple as has been stated multiple times in the very thread you replied to.

Hi everyone, if anyone is still having this problem I finally got through to them. Here is the link to unsubscribe. Not Apple nor Goldman Sacs was able to help. I was changing account numbers & passwords for months while disputing charges. Yet somehow they were still charging my account. It was ridiculous. Hope it helps.

I signed up for a free trial and didn’t have any problem canceling it. I really like the app! You’ll get a kick out of it if you’re into astrology and horoscopes for sure. I think it’s quite easy to navigate, everything is where you’d expect it to be, and it looks pretty too.

As you can see in the 5 pages of posts here, the users do have a problem with the Nebula app and were signed up for a subscription that they were unaware of. It may have been in the fine print when they chose to get a free reading, but they clearly feel manipulated.

Some even think that it is Apple's fault for allowing the subscription, when Apple is not involved at all and the subscription is made directly with the company. That is why the subscription does not show on your device where it can be easily cancelled by Apple.

Nebula can solve this problem by making clear to the user that they are going to be charged after clicking the link for a free reading and do that without including it in the fine print. A follow up email would also make this action clear and include the link to cancel if they choose to do that. Or instead of manipulating users into a trial subscription using a button to get a free reading, just give them the free reading and then ask them if they want to continue to get readings for a subscription charge.

I did not download the Nebula app and I did not sign up for a "free trial" but I did complete a questionnaire where they were supposed to email me results of the questionnaire. I never received the results of the questionnaire and somehow, just having my email, they accessed the card on my Apply Pay account. I honestly have no idea how they did it but they also set up an automatic "subscription" withdrawal via PayPal since my Apple Pay and PayPal accounts use the same card. Presently canceling my bank card as that seems to be the only recourse. Scary stuff people. FIRST red flag - the company is registered out of Cyprus. BTW, in PayPal, Nebula is listed as "Obrio Limited."

Hi fellow victim

the first that I am embarrassed to say I agreed to, had nebula astrology in the name. The second charge was a name that was longer and looked almost like a web addy. (STP*breeze.basenjiapp) Beside them both ( at the end of the “charger” of the money but before the money amount was a funny globe/ world looking thing with F X in it hope this helps

It’s possible your card data has been compromised somewhere. It could have been a data breach or when you swiped or used the chip. Have you ever handed your card to a server at a restaurant?

Once the data is stolen it is sold on the Dark Web, with your personal information, over and over. Fraudsters use the information to purchase services and products.

What is the charge for?
