Usb camera adapter iOS 16.5 not charging device

Updated to 16.5 today. My 7th gen iPad is used for midi music apps. I have an apple usb lightning camera adapter with charging. The charging port will not work for the iPad anymore. I’ve tried several different apple cables. The adapter will allow charge-through to my iphone, so it’s not a hardware issue. I’ve done several restarts / reboots on the iPad. Still no success. Charging only occurs with direct connection and NOT through the adapter. Any other solutions available?

update: I have purchased a second (genuine Apple) usb lightning camera adapter to see if my first one went bad.

I have done several forced restarts / power off reboots with iPad.

Unfortunately, the same result.

The bottom line is my 7th gen iPad no longer accepts the lightning port side of the adapter for charging anymore. The usb side is working as it should.

Once again, the ipad will respond immediately for charging via direct connect without the adapter in between.

I have tested both camera adapters by connecting to iphone, and the phone responds immediately for charging through the adapter.

I have to believe this is a software issue. I’m hoping Apple techs can test / verify this bug and see if a fix can be issued asap.
