Gathering printer information keeps coming up when I want to print on my phone but no the iPad.

How do I clear the ‘gathering printer information’ from my phone when I want to print. ?

It’s not only pictures but anything with what appears to be a designed header. Started after a loaded new iPhone update 17.

I have the same problem my printer will not l print from my iPhone and my VPN is not on… Does anybody have any new solutions?

I had this problem following lasted IOS update. Follow this sequence in the correct order to fix:

1) Turn router off and on.

2) Turn printer off and on.

3) Turn iPad off and on.

When trying to print from my IPhone 11 it won’t connect: reads No Printer Selected and Gathering Info. My wife has iPhone 10 and it connects and prints. Has there been a fix for this? I’ve done the disconnecting of devices and such.

I updated to 17.2 Sunday and my print function no longer works. I do not have a vpn installed on any of my devices. The hp printer shows on my list of available printers but when selected it starts gathering printer information but never finishes and goes back to no printer found. Had no issues prior to this update. Judging by this forum this is apparently a common issue so hope a patch is forthcoming. Apple Support??? What say you?

On Sunday 14 Jan update of my iPhone 14 Pro to iOS 17.2.1 the printer is not working - it’s seems to be stuck on ‘information not available’ . My wireless printer (brother…) appears and then disappears. Help to fix this please

I have developed a follow on problem. Now I can establish connectivity with my HP printer but when I send the print request sometimes nothing happens, sometimes it prints, other times it prints gibberish. I think there is a spooling issue.

Why oh why has apple blocked the access to my Epson printer ?? Are they going to supply us a compatible printer or are they going to FIX THE PROBLEM THEY HAVE CREATED . doesn’t work on iPad or Samsung mobile .

Same problem. Tried all suggestions; updated firmware; turn on/off (worked the other day, but not again); no VPN connected. Does Apple know how to fix this? Please can someone from Apple reply with a solution to this.

I am having the same exact problem. Cannot print from my iphone at all anymore. fun stuff. “Gathering printer information” keeps spinning and is keeping me from printing. If I try to ignore it, the printer disappears completely. It doesn’t matter because it won’t print and it was printing fine before update.

my wife has the same issue and symptoms using iOS 17.4.1 with or without VPN enabled. She has an iPhone 13 and it’s suddenly impacted about 4 weeks ago. Gathering supplies information D infinitum. My iPhone 8 and iPad are both unaffected. Can anyone advise if there is a routine that works. I e spent hours switching on/off reinstalling printer pairings to no avail
