I wish I had read this before we bought our new iPhone 14 Pros today and had this problem. It connects via Bluetooth but will not connect to CarPlay so I can’t access my map or anything. REALLY ****** OFF.

Same issue on 2017 Ford F150 Platinum with Sync 3. Everything worked until an update a few months back. I have even removed and replaced the USB port in the truck thinking it had something wrong with it and doubting it could be my new iPhone 14 that was the issue as it has worked a week before it stopped on a road trip and using the Apple Map as the Navigation. Currently have the 14 updated to iOS 16.6.1 and still not resolved in that version.

It started after an Apple update, not before. As a troubleshooting methodology, great suggestion for others, but unfortunately I’ve already done the unpairing from both devices that (first about 2 months ago when it first started) without any change. Coincidently, my daughter has a 13 Pro Max that received the same update and it broke CarPlay for her as well in both my Ford and in her 2022 Nissan. This isn’t on the automobile manufacturer; this is an Apple Software oopsie, that likely slipped through quality control checks. If I weren’t in the Technology field and specifically the software dev field, I might be more apt to believe Apple software is without bugs that need fixes.

1 foot (12”) cable is a solution. Just FYI, I had the same problem with my phone not connecting to CarPlay after the update and read in a Reddit forum that using a 1 foot long cable will allow phone to connect. I tried it and it worked! My assumption is that this is intentional and was done to prevent one from looking at their phone while driving however my experience is that it is a dangerous change in that at times I do need to glance at my phone and it requires way more of my attention because of the issues of dealing with a short cord.
