When I put a new SIM card into my phone for international usage, will I still be able to access my Icloud files?

FWIW. If you travel abroad often, you may want to consider getting an iPhone which supports eSIMs. These would be iPhone XS or later phones.
The reason would be that you can have your (home country) default cellular carrier service on the eSIM, and then, get physical SIM cards for the countries you visit.

Typically, the cellular provider assists you with activating an eSIM. Of course, they also provide physical SIM cards. Both of your phones should support both types of SIMs. You can also contact Apple Support as well. To do so, simply select the "Support" link on the lower left-hand side of this forum's web page.

Thank you. I do understand that my regular phone number will not work. I really just need it for maps and local internet.
I want to store my tour tickets in my "files" which is in my icloud and didn't know if it would not pull up w/o my original phone number's sim card.
Ok thank you. I have an XR and my daughter has a 12. She bought an esim which she cannot get to work. She is now reliant on wifi. I just don't know what we're doing wrong but it's too hard to figure out while she is gone.
I am thinking I'll just put my tickets in PDF or print and then get a physical sim for maps.
Yes.
The SIM card inserted has no relation to your iCloud account.
You will not however be able to get calls and messages to the number from the other SIM card if it's not in the iPhone.
