I don’t know if you had time to read the rest of the discussion here or if it was on another forum for Apple where I saw the issue. I had this problem after I downloaded the 16.5 as did a lot of other people on different iPhones. And some people had it after downloading the 16. Apple finally fixed it with a 16.6 update is the latest one it’s not the 16.5.1(c) update . I was very upset with Apple because they never claimed that that caused the phone to get hot and to drain the battery quickly. I was going to go into Best Buy to exchange my phone because I have the warranty on it still. But after I downloaded the 16.6 iOS update, my phone was back to acting normal. It does not get hot and the battery doesn’t drain. It’s back to the way it was before the 16.5 update. So before you do anything I would try updating the to the 16.6 iOS update. Other people have also said online that help them and have fixed their phone also doing that. I am sorry I am dictating this on Siri so I’m sorry if it’s not understandable anyway take care and I hope this works for you bye

I am sorry that the 16.6 did not fix your phone. It fixed several other people’s

phones that I know. Except for one person, and their phone wasn’t fixed. After downloading the 16.6 all of my issues are away with the battery draining and the phone getting hot and stopping the charge because it was too hot. That person is going to get a new phone if you have a warranty or something like that with Apple you can exchange your phone for the new one. I was going to do that two days after I download the 16.6 update, but since it fixed the phone I canceled the appointment with Best Buy to exchange my phone. All I can wish u isngood luck. I feel really bad for you.

If you are saying that a message appears on the screen that your phone is overheating, then make an appointment at the Apple Store or take the phone to an authorized Apple Service shop to them run some checks on the phone.

If you are not seeing a message that the phone is overheating, then it might feel warm or hot, but it is not overheating. But, you could still take the phone in and have it checked out if you want.

I am having the same problem with my iPhone 14 after the iOS 16.5.1 update. I never had any problems at all before the update with heating or overheating or any messages about stopping my charging because my phone was getting hot. Plus, my iPhone battery now drains rapidly. I have to charge it all the time now. This is the truth. This is happening and I would like to know what Apple is going to do about it. Instead of ignoring it because it’s true it’s happening after the update. Help us please. We really need help with this please I just bought this phone a few months ago in. In February I never had any problems with it until after the update. A lot of people have told me that they don’t like to upgrade or update their phones. Now I know why. Please help us.

I have visited Apple twice regarding the battery issue with my iPhone 14 Pro after updating to 16.6 these issues started happening. The first time, they suggested that the problem might be with my charger and recommended I buy a 20W block. I followed their advice and purchased the new charger, but it didn't improve the battery life.

Feeling frustrated, I went to a different Apple location a few days later, and they thought it could be a software-related problem. They had me perform a hard reset on my phone and set it up as new, hoping it would resolve the issue. However, even after trying this, the battery continues to drain rapidly. In just under 5 minutes, my phone's battery goes down by 3%.

I requested a battery replacement, but Apple refused, claiming that my battery health is still at 100%. Nonetheless, I am convinced that the battery is faulty, especially because I never encountered such problems with any of the 12 iPhones I owned in the past.

I'm unsure of what to do next, as I've exhausted the troubleshooting steps suggested by Apple. I want to find a solution to this battery drain problem as soon as possible.

iPhone 14 Pro here.

The Battery drain alone is one thing. I get that Always-On Display, heavy background activity etc. might have a negative influence here.

But the Battery health is a different issue as it is a hardware related indicator of the battery quality.

When I first heard about the issue about a week ago I checked mine an it was 92%. Which is low after only 11 months. Most of my iPhones were still over 95% after two years.

Chat support checked the battery, couldn't find issues and told me to make an oppointment on site in an Apple Store. Went there yesterday. They didn't find any issues as well but health was then at 91%. But they won't help until it reaches 80%.

So I checked today again and health is now 90% ... so it degraded 2% in about a week.

Scheduled another appointment for today because this (in connection with the battery drain I am experiencing too) is unacceptable in my opinion.

For about two months, probably after upgrading the iOS my battery on my 14 Pro will drain 80% in eight hours with all apps closed and in airplane mode or with wifi or with cellular. It came on suddenly, and Apple support has no solutions. And Apple care has no way of knowing what apps or services that are actually running in the background that’s causing the drain.
