Voice typing duplicates text on my iPhone 14 Pro Max

This solution did not fix my texting duplication problem. Both "Speak Selection" or "Speak Screen" were already turned off. Also, I've tried speaking more clearly and that did not fix it either

This is maddening.

Thanks a lot this along with turning off spoken content >speak screen, find it for me. I had to do both, clearing each out after. Thanks so much been struggling with this since the update. I use my micro a lot to voice my notes, so if was very frustrating

I’ve been encountering persistent issues with my iPhone, notably the frequent occurrence of double texts. It feels as though there’s more emphasis on developing aesthetic features like a titanium band for the new iPhone, rather than enhancing its fundamental functionalities. Despite promises made years ago, it seems the voice-to-text feature and Siri’s performance remain antiquated. I’m seriously considering switching to an Android device, as it appears to be the only viable solution to these ongoing frustrations.

I’ve been dealing with this problem for years. Went into the Apple Store and they thought they fixed it but they were absolutely 100% wrong. Such a pain! It’s the worst when you try to edit some thing because it might just repeat what was texted before or after and sometimes I find an entire paragraph repeated at the bottom of the letter. Can’t send an email without proofreading it 1 million times. Sometimes a 5 to 10 minute email takes an hour and a half. Pulling my hair out!

Just turned mine off but I am so not holding my breath. And this also happened with my iPhone 10X. That is when the nightmare began and just continued when I got my iPhone 14 pro. I noticed it more when I’m sending emails because that is when I am dictating the lengthy messages. It’s awful!

I have the same issue when I am sending text messages using voice type it interjects text in between that is duplicate of what I have said and scrambles the entire message. I have to go through and delete a whole bunch of duplicate sentences over and over.

I tried to delete my other post and it would not let me. Still waiting to edit or delete it but no luck so if you see two post contradicting themselves, you know why.

OK, I was equally as frustrated as anyone. I’m in a creative industry and if one of my tools starts repeating itself and I look down after a few hundred words to find that it’s 1000 words that’s a big deal.

It totally totally throws off momentum and the creative direction I was taken on a feature article. Not to mention my ADD - so if I have to stop and start and erase a duplicate, my train of thought is shot and I may never recapture that idea.

Wi-Fi to 5G! problem started about that time-

When I updated to 5G, I kept a split line because some things work better on the older network. . So as long as I am NOT on 5G it wasn’t DUPLICATing UNTIL - man I was on cloud nine and knocking out all kind of work and then I started texting 😤

17.4 made everything WORSE. I swear Apple enjoys annoying its customers😡

If they can come up with the latest greatest technological advances, why can’t they fix the dumbest things??

My 15 pro just started repeating blocks of text when I pause while using voice to text. This just started immediately after an update to 17.4.1. I can't get it to stop. Sometimes it will duplicate a paragraph 3 or 4 times.

I’m having the exact same problem today on April 13, 2024. It’s not just the iPhone, it’s also when I use voice to text on my iMac. Now, I noticed I’m wearing an Apple Watch and I’m wondering if the Apple Watch is somehow listening to me and duplicating it. I tried talking to somebody from Apple today and they said it it’s not unknown issue… Well, obviously, they’re lying.

Have tried all the fixes to this on my MacBook Pro.

Here is a partial solution...

Have turned my keyboard "key repeat rate" to off and whenever I end a string of dictation, I hit the delete key. Its not a fix, but it is a workaround.
