Apple Wallet says “Pass Disabled” for TicketMaster

My Ticketmaster concert tickets in the Wallet suddenly show “Pass Disabled” and “This pass is associated with a different Apple ID”. Ticketmaster has not been able to help me so far. I do still show my tickets in Ticketmaster. Is it safe and wise to try deleting them in the Wallet and then start over in Ticketmaster and add to Wallet again? I did not transfer these to anyone so there shouldn’t be duplicates. Although a different set of tickets for same weekend were transferred to my spouse and it has the same message.

Just had this same issue. I decided to try signing out of my Apple ID on my phone and got a notif from the Ticketmaster app saying I need to sign into my iCloud to add my pass (my ticket) back to the wallet app. So I signed back in and it worked for me! To anyone having this issue, try signing out of your Apple ID and signing back in in the wallet app or in settings (try either). That’s exactly what I did and it worked! Hopefully it works for you too :)

Same problem with my wife’s TM account. After much research and trying several things, I found a solution that works. I had to create an entirely new Ticketmaster account with a different email address for her. I was then able to transfer the tickets to her from her old Ticketmaster account (signed in on computer). She then accepted the ticket transfer from her email using her phone . The Ticketmaster app on her phone was signed into her new Ticketmaster account. She was then able to view the tickets on her phone using the Ticketmaster app and download them to her Apple wallet.

fortunately, she already had another email address that she prefers to use anyway different than the email address that she was using for Ticketmaster. This other email address was not previously associated with Ticketmaster.

I think the problem originated because in the past, I had signed into her Ticketmaster account on my phone to transfer tickets from her account to my account and then downloaded those tickets to my phone. This process somehow associated her Ticketmaster account with my phone and Apple ID. as far as I can tell, once this happens, there is no way to change the Apple ID associated with your Ticketmaster account.

So I was able to find a strange work around for this. It works if you do not care about the history you have on your current account, and not mind if it no longer says "Fan since XXXX".

If you log into the account you purchased the ticket with and update the email to another email account (e.g., another account you have access to), this will change your login id but the password stays the same. Then create a new account using your original email address. Once done with both steps, log back into the ticketmaster account that you changed the password to and transfer the ticket to your "new" account. Then log out of ticketmaster, go to your email (not the email that you changed your original account to), and accept the transfer. It will have you log in, so make sure you use the real email (new) account. This will automatically accept the transfer. Now, log off the ticketmaster app on your phone and log back in using your new account. You should see the ticket there. Add to wallet and you should be all set.

This means that you will no longer have all your past tickets in your profile, but that is not a big deal for me. It really is the only solution we have right now with ticketmaster blaming Apple and Apple blaming ticketmaster.

I was having the same issue. girlfriend had to sign in with my Ticketmaster account on her phone as mine died before an event. and from that point on I got pass disabled in my Apple wallet. Ticketmaster as others have reported completely useless. Here is how I fixed it.

We had an event coming up and I transferred a ticket to her. She logged in using a Ticketmaster account tied to her email. She added the ticket to her Apple wallet. I believe doing this had Ticketmaster link her Apple ID to her Ticketmaster account allowing me to add my ticket to my Apple wallet and linking my Apple ID to mine once again. Both our passes (the one I transferred to her and the one I saved to Apple wallet that had previously said pass disabled) worked perfectly.

Hope this helps.

I can confirm that Ticketmaster is able to fix this issue. Unfortunately this info may not be helpful to most. We have NHL season tickets and my account manager was able to contact Ticketmaster and they were able to unlink the Apple ID associated with my tickets. I went back in and added them to my Apple Wallet, I got a notification from wallet that it was associating with my Apple ID and it confirmed via FaceID. The ticket added and was ready to use, no pass disabled message. So Ticketmaster is clearly able to do it, my account manager stated this was a 1 time only fix, so I had to make sure no one else was using my Ticketmaster credentials.

I had the same issue and managed to resolve it with a new TM account and a new primary email on my Apple ID. Full details below:

  • I haven't purchased anything and haven't added any TM ticket to my Apple Wallet since the TM data breach last year where all TM accounts had to change their password.
  • This summer I purchased tickets to a concert but these tickets were configured as 'not transferable'.
  • These tickets were for my wife, since I couldn't transfer the tickets to her account she used my TM account on her iPhone and added those tickets to her Wallet. This somehow associated my TM account with her Apple ID.
    • There is no way to undo this association in the TM system that I'm aware of.
      • I've read in other forums that apparently you can call TM and ask that they unlink the Apple ID associated with your tickets. I haven't seen anyone claim success for this, maybe this is possible now but earlier threads I've read on this topic folks were getting no support from TM for this issue.

  • Last month I purchased tickets for 2 different events (NHL game + parking). When I tried to add these tickets to my Wallet the pass would remain in the 'pass is being activated' status for 30+ minutes and then would eventually move to pass is disabled with error 'This pass is associated with a different Apple ID. Contact Ticketmaster to resolve this issue'.
  • I contacted TM via chat and they told me this was an Apple issue and I had to contact Apple.
  • I contacted Apple and they said it's a TM issue.
  • Throughout this ordeal, I did the following troubleshooting steps, none worked. After each step I would remove the pass from my Wallet and re-add it from the TM app.
    • Updated iOS to latest 18.x version.
    • Signed out of my apple account on my phone and re-logged in.
    • Removed TM app, reinstalled, relogin into TM app.
    • Both my wife and I logged out of our Apple account on our iPhones, logged back in, uninstall / re-install TM app. Ensured no logged in session to TM via browser from anywhere.
    • Transferred tickets to my wife's account, she was able to add the tickets to her Wallet no issue (pass activated right away). Then transfer those tickets back to me. (I thought maybe this would unlink her Apple ID from my account but no luck).
  • In the end what resolved it for me was:
    • My current TM account (the one that doesn't work properly) is associated with email address: a@domain.com
    • My Apple ID is configured with email: a@domain.com
    • I created a new TM account with another email address that I own: b@domain.com
    • I modified my Apple account to change the primary email to: b@domain.com
      • This was required, if I tried to use new TM account (b@domain.com) with my Apple ID a@domain.com, the pass would completely refuse to add to the Wallet. I read somewhere that TM requires the email addresses to match to add to wallet.
      • Instructions to change primary email were found here: Change your Apple Account primary email address - Apple Support (CA)
      • I left my original email in my Apple account as a secondary email (a@domain.com). This way my Apple TV app continues to work fine with my a@domain.com email.
    • Transferred the tickets from my TM account a@domain.com to my new TM account b@domain.com.
    • Signed out of my apple account on my phone and login with the new primary email on my Apple ID (b@domain.com)
    • Uninstall / Re-install TM app, login to TM app using b@domain.com.
    • Add tickets from TM app to Wallet. For the first ticket I added I got a popup to confirm that this was getting added to Apple ID b@domain.com. I guess this is the indirect way of saying that my TM account will now be linked to the mentioned Apple ID. My pass got activated right away. I added 2nd ticket no issue and this time I did not get the popup, it added right away.

Hopefully someone from TM will take action on this particular issue since it's causing a lot of pain for a lot of people. With the significant service fees that TM charges, they should be providing better support for this.

If you have evet had a kid/spouse sign into your Ticketmaster account and save a pass o. Their phon that is something that causes this problem. Remove all passes from their phone, sign out of Ticketmaster on their phone. Sign into/create their own Ticketmaster account. Transfer them a ticket and save in apple wallet. (They can then transfer back) on Your phone remove any tickets in wallet 5hen re-save them to wallet (found on other site and cleared up my issue)

Spent an hour on Apple customer support yesterday. Eventually worked my up to a supervisor who eventually said the problem seems to be that my AppleID is recorded incorrectly within the Ticketmaster system. Apple has no way to fix this, and that I would have to try to find someone at TicketMaster to help. As has been noted by numerous others who have encountered this, TicketMaster's customer support is barely better than **** itself.

Believe it or not -- this is likely due to a safety/security feature between the Apple Wallet and the TM App.

It even states on the TM.com website My ticket isn't working in my Apple Wallet. What should I do?

"Any tickets purchased from an individual Ticketmaster account can only be linked to one Apple ID."

While you and your wife are sharing the TM account, you probably each have your own Apple ID that you use with the iCloud on your iPhone.

The Apple Wallet uses the Apple ID that is signed into iCloud to associate with the items which are added to the Apple Wallet.

Here's one way to think of it:

iPhone A -- Apple ID-A for iCloud

iPhone B -- Apple ID-B for iCloud

TM app -- same ID used on both iPhone A and iPhone B

When you purchase tickets from your TM account using the TM app on iPhone A -- which uses Apple ID-A on the iPhone to sign into iCloud -- and then add the tickets to the Apple Wallet on iPhone A - that causes the TM app to "see" Apple ID-A as the Apple ID to be use with the account.

When you purchase tickets from the same TM account using the app on iPhone B -- the TM app is still looking for Apple ID-A when you go to add the tickets to the Apple Wallet, but it's seeing Apple ID-B. This is what is causing the "Pass Disabled" message. Since the Apple IDs are different the pass is automatically disabled for safety and security.

One way to resolve this is to have TM.com account for you to use on your devices, and another for your wife to use on her devices. That way each Apple ID is associated with a separate TM account. If you need to each have your own tickets on your devices you can easily transfer the barcodes from TM-A account to TM-B account.

Hope that helps to make things a bit clearer.

Here we go again with the latest iOS update 17.6 from 17.5.1. Yes passes came up as being disabled after update was complete.

It took me two attempts today but I can confirm 100% that my solution to this problem from April 25, 2024: Setting > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

No it doesn't wipe your phone. You're not erasing everything, only resetting. It'll reboot the phone automatically and you'll then sign in using your passcode rather than facial ID. Then rejoin your home WiFi.

Make sure you're not charging your phone or have it connected to iTunes on your computer when you do this.

Nothing to do with passes but I've found that after an update my credit card CVV gets removed from my Apple Pay. I have to contact my bank, verify it's me, make sure they know it's not fraud. The last couple of updates they've put a hold on my card, which I've only find out about when I'm making a purchase.

The Issue is that Ticketmaster has designed their system (incorrectly)to insist your TM Account email address must be the same as your Apple ID in order to successfully authenticate any tickets added to the Apple Wallet.

This is obviously not necessary with any other Company (think Credit Cards, Club Memberships, Airline Booking Passes, etc) for me at least, as they all use a different email address to my AppleID email address and there's never been an issue.

So the solution unfortunately is to:

  1. ensure your have no upcoming Ticketmaster Events.
  2. Change your Ticket Email address to be the same as your Appel ID.
  3. All Ticketmaster tix should successfully be activated when Added to the Apple Wallet.

Cheers

Potential crappy solution and root cause for me. My Apple ID was setup well over ten years ago. It uses a different email than my Ticketmaster account. It has never been an issue before. I’ve used TM for I don’t know how long, and I’ve had NFL season tickets now for four years.

I decided to create a new TM account with the same email as my Apple ID and transfer the tickets to that email. I had to use my work cell, which in the future might cause an issue, but maybe by then I won’t be a season ticket holder, and maybe I can manage that in the future. For now, I’m able to put my tickets in my wallet this way so I don’t have to worry about problems at the event, concert, etc.

The other issue is the TM Transfer and Group process occasionally has errors when changing the original purchase email address to the new transferred email address.

So the initial solution unfortunately is your TM Account email needs to be the same as your Apple ID:

  1. ensure your have no upcoming Ticketmaster Events.
  2. Change your Ticket Email address to be the same as your Appel ID.
  3. All Ticketmaster tix should successfully be activated when Added to the Apple Wallet.
  4. follow the NHL etc transfer resolutions displayed previously if your TM Email address = Apple ID, but truly the issue is with Ticketmaster and they need to get off their backsides and fix the design, as it's existed for way too long.

Cheers
