I have a few email contacts whose mails always end up in the junk folder. Even though I send them to the inbox each time this happens, iCloud Mail does not seem to be learning this choice.
Is there a way to whitelist email addresses?

Try accessing iCloud Mail on iCloud.com instead of in the Mail app, and then follow the steps below exactly as they're listed to indicate that an email in iCloud Mail isn't junk:
Indicate that an email isn’t junk
1. In Mail on iCloud.com, click the Junk folder in the Mailboxes list.
2. Select the message or messages, then do one of the following:
* If you selected one message: Click, then click Move to Inbox.
* If you selected multiple messages: Click Mark, then click “Move to Inbox.”
Subsequent messages from the same sender are no longer automatically marked as junk.

We would like to ask you a couple of questions in order to get a better understanding. First, do you have any filtering rules enable in Mail that could be auto junking the files? Also, do you have any filtering rules with your email service provider that could be moving the mail to the undesirable location? Finally, does this issue happen on any other device?

No there is no filtering. I was hoping to be able to create a positive whitelist filter to stop messages from some sources going through to spam.
Apple iCloud is my email service provider.
Because my mail is iCloud Mail all the way down it is exactly the same on every device.
Thanks. This is what I was doing in the macOS email client. I didn't realise it might carry more weight in iCloud.
Right now there are no good messages in the spam folder, but I watch and report back if this succeeds.
