Using iPad Air case with iPad Pro - Close Lid to Sleep Function not Working

I purchased a Logitech combo touch originally for the iPad Air and am using it on my iPad Pro (3rd Generation 12.9inch). Besides the speaker holes and mic holes not lining up correctly, I am also noticing that the close to sleep function is not working. Does the iPad Air and the iPad Pro not have same alignment of magnets for the lid closing sleep function?

That is correct. The cases are designed for one specific iPad model. This shows assorted Apple cases from the Apple Store - note different cases for different models.

Many cases include a cover to protect the screen when it is closed - and the covers often include a magnet to operate the iPad’s screen auto-lock function. Due to different physical layout of internal components, the magnet and corresponding iPad sensor location differs between models.

Unless a fitted case is explicitly designed for the iPad model, the case openings/perforations - and any embedded magnets - will not correctly align.

When purchasing a case for your iPad - whether OEM (Apple) or third party - you should always chose a case that is explicitly designed for the iPad model. This will ensure that the case will fit properly, providing maximum protection to your expensive iPad. This will ensure that the physical buttons of the iPad will work correctly - and perforations or openings for the multiple microphones, speakers and connection ports are not obstructed.
