Mouse problems

The wireless mouse cursor (arrow) on my iMac is sticking. I have tried another wireless mouse and a usb mouse but get the same problem. Could the driver have become corrupted, and if so how do I fix it? I have run a diagnostic but this does not find any faults.

Since the same problems occur with a wired (USB) mouse I suspect what you perceive as cursor jerkiness is a manifestation of overall slow system performance.

Normally, I would suggest trying "Safe Mode" in an effort to eliminate the potential causes: Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support, but using a Mac in that mode is generally clunky so you are likely to perceive the same effect.

Given that limitation, please consider downloading and running EtreCheck, and posting its report in a reply to this Discussion. A description and a download link are here: How to use the Add Text Feature When Posting Large Amounts of Text, i.e. an Etrecheck Report - Apple Community
