When printing a .pdf from my iPhone (iOS 16.6) , I can choose draft quality but this option is not available when trying to print the same .pdf on my Mac mini (Ventura 13.5). Printer is a Brother MFC-J6930DW, latest firmware.
Any help appreciated.

I would imagine the iPhone is using AirPrint. Are you using the AirPrint driver on your Mac or the Brother driver?
I don't have a Brother printer to see if I see anything different.
While they are both AirPrint, the drivers are not the same.
On an Epson, I can only choose Normal or Best, but have a Draft option on iOS.

Thank you. I think I understand that AirPrint polls the printer for information. Why that would be different between OSs I don't know although it's clear the manufacturer makes most if not all the functions available From further reading, it would seem unless you can use third party software or Apple fiddles with macOS there's little to be done.

Thank you - I saw this and many other threads but there's little progress even now.
Why? Why questions are the domain of Apple's developers and its R&D labs.
Can draft print in iOS but not macOS to same printer.
