Delete the wallet app and reset network settings. Download it again and check if it works.

I’m having the same issue as everyone else with not being able to add my card to my apple wallet . I believe the issue is with Apple and this is why; I was successfully able to add the same cards to my friend’s Apple wallet with no problem.

I reached out to my card issuer (chase) and they too were unsuccessful with adding the card to my Apple wallet. I was told by the card issuer they received a message stating my Apple account has a FRAUD alert on it which is preventing them from adding my card to the wallet on there end.

I reached back out to Apple support and was told I don’t have any alerts on my Apple account. And the message the card issuer provided was untrue.

Can someone tell me if a Fraud alert on an Apple account is really a thing and how do I get this resolved?

I managed to sort mine. If I go to the Apple wallet directly through the app, then go to add a new card (after having removed the old expired card), it was showing an option to add a “previous card”. When I went in there I clicked edit and deleted those cards, completely solving the problem and letting me add them no worries afterwards.

I’m just working this issue with Apple support. This maybe a work around, possible. I’m waiting for a call back….

Go into “All Watches”and click the “i” in the watch app.

Unpair Apple Watch

This removes all data. (Something gets stuck in there)Don’t worry you will get it back.

when it comes back you want no data. Thing will be blank when it all comes back.

Add the card on the watch like you normally add a card.

Unpair the watch again

when it comes back pick a backup file you’ll see. Look closely at the dates.

Select the second oldest if it’s a recent backup file.

have a look at the wallet it should be now be there. Hopefully.

It’s a long painful process…

I’m not certain but I’m pretty sure this is an issue with iOS version 17 because I am having the same problem and it only started after updating to iOS 17. Was able to add cards just fine before iOS 17 but now I’m having issues every time I add a new card. (this does not include adding a card through the banks app to my Apple wallet)

If you can add it through the banks website or their app, it indicates the bank or Payment Network (Visa, MasterCard etc.) is having verification issues. Apple is not a bank and cannot verify your card. Only the issuing bank or a third party verification service (Payment Network or merchant services provider) and verify the card/account. When you add the card manually using Apple Wallet, the banks verification procedure changes. It’s the manual verification process that is failing and that’s basically your banks issue.

Try to get your issue escalated up the tiers of support at the bank and hopefully they can resolve the issue for you. The bank’s support team may need to contact the Payment Network or verification services provider. Consumers will have no luck trying to get support from Payment Network etc.
