iPhone 13 Pro Max White Screen

We bought iphone 13 pro max on last year june. Today i.e. aug 13 we faced a major issue. The screen completely went white . We took the phone to the service center. They confirmed its display issue. We followed the threads in iphone 13 and found its very common and happening for a lot of people post upgrade. The customer care here asked for around 35k. The issue is bot caused by any hardware or software damage. None of these was damager by user i.e. us. Then why we have to pay such a lum sum amount for it. Need assistance on this. As a lot if important data is stored in that phone.

Hi,

Like you say, it's a widely known issue among users dealing with the problem. In another thread the user Arzozeus suggests a process to try getting the repair cost waived: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254455239?answerId=259380747022#259380747022

A different user explained how they got the cost waived: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254455239?answerId=259197503022#259197503022.

Good luck!

Apple has fixed the white screen of death issue in my iPhone 13 pro max at free of cost if it's identified as manufacturing defect and if there are no damages done by the user. My product is out of warranty and this issue has been fixed by screen replacement. Thank you Apple for your support in this. I would recommend everyone who faces this white screen issue to reach out to Apple authorized service center. Big thanks to Authorized service center in Coimbatore Rs puram DB road branch for helping in this process.

Hey Sujith , I have initially approached two authorized service center's in Bangalore ( HSR layout ) and they didn't even took my phone and checked with service team , just by looking at my white screen they said the screen has to be replaced and it would cost around 38k INR and if your looking for a paid service proceed here else check with apple support care, then i approached the service center in Coimbatore where they kept my phone in observation for around 2 hrs and got an exceptional approval from Apple that it is a manufacturing defect ( my phone was in perfect condition No drops and scratches) and they sent back to Apple and got it replaced. The service team or engineers helped to identify it as a manufacturing defect. Please check with authorized service center and ask them to analyze the issue in your iphone 13 pro max and if there are no damages from your side , they may help you to replace the screen free of cost just in my case.

TLDR: Faced the same issue. Apple replaced my screen, waived the SGD457.00 replacement fee.

I've faced this exact white screen issue too. I bought my iPhone 13 Pro Max in Sept 2022. My screen started flickering/glitching recently (Sept 2024), I thought it was my eyesight problem lol. But realised it was the phone's problem because the screen flickered consistently throughout the day and went completely white all of a sudden.

I tried the volume up and down + side button reboot method, but the screen stayed white. This whole ordeal happened after my phone automatically ran the iOS update the night before. I thought the update caused this problem. Brought it to Apple Store and after running some diagnostics, they told me it was a screen defect issue.

Since my phone warranty expired awhile ago, I gasped 😱 quite a bit when they showed me the screen replacement cost hahaha. So they decided to waive the replacement cost for me after confirming there were no physical defects and hardware/software modifications on my part. They did inform me there might be possible data lost after screen replacement.

Btw phone is good as new now. And thankfully no data lost after the fix.

Folks, I got similar issue. The process is you call online service And mention regarding your issue. I have insisted them that this is caused after software update and you can see many community users are facing same issue.

If they can assure you that it is from the software issue, then screen will be replaced only if the device is found to be non-damage state and screen damage is caused by software.

Then you need to go to Aptronix and submit your iPhone and asked them to send the reports to your online ticket. If the report comes to be positive with no physical damage or water damage from your side and you have already negotiated with the online service partner. Then they will give you a free replacement or charger minimal fee for the store service.

But if found out that your phone is water or physical damage, then even though the damage may caused by a software, you will not get free replacement.

ps: The opinions here on my own and Personal. Same case may or may not have occurred with you. I’m just sharing my experience for the community. I’m not representing any company. All the best and don’t worry.

I am thankful to the iVenus service center in Andheri. They thoroughly examined my device and determined that there was no liquid damage or other issues caused by my activities. They escalated my problem to Apple, and I had my phone repaired with a new display at no cost, even though the warranty had expired.

I would like to mention Ms. DHANASHRI WAGHE, the executive who attended to my issue at the service center. According to the service order, it was stated that it might take 10 working days to complete the repair. However, she supported me, promptly escalated the issue, and within 2 days, my device was repaired. Many thanks to iVenus - Apple Authorized Service Provider - Andheri East, Mumbai, and Ms. DHANASHRI WAGHE for the commitment shown.

Hi all,

I am able to convince the customer support team to waive off the repair cost.

Now I have received my phone with new screen and I need not to pay a single penny.

Please get in touch with regional customer care team and tell them that the issue started after upgrading the IOS version.

The support guy is very helpful and he assured me to give my phone back and it works.

After rigorous follow up, Apple replaced my screen free of cost(gave me one time exception) . Most of the brands are facing such issues with OLED screens. One plus have gone on to the extent of giving lifetime warranty on their screens provided their is no physical damage . I personally feel Apple should do the same for people to maintain faith in their phones. Frankly my faith is a little bit shaken. I always felt apple has the best quality . Hope this is just a temporary thing and apple keeps their customer's confidence in them high

You may try some of these steps, please check after each step...

  1. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary software glitches. Turn off your iPhone, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
    1. Restart the device. That's it.
    2. Still not solved --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
  2. Follow the Apple article to resolve the issue --> If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen ...
  3. You can put your iOS device in recovery mode, then restore it using your computer. ---> If you can't update or restore your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support (IN)

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it is recommended to reach out to Apple Support or visit an authorized service center for further assistance. They can provide specific guidance based on your device model and iOS version.

Got screen replacement for free for my iPhone 13 ProMax.

As far as what i heard from few online feedback, iPhone 13 pro max & iPhone 14 pro max are having similar issue of white/pink screen, & if eligible to raise concern - service center will probably have an update from Apple to repair it without any cost, but there must not be physical damage on phone that might have caused white/pink screen issue.

As in my case, I had no physical damage & after hassling for 15 days, got an update from Apple that once unit is reviewed based on condition, it is replaceable.
