I've tried troubleshooting my airpods like forgetting the device off my phone and reconnecting, cleaning them, and switching the microphone from left to right to automatic but nothing has helped. I've tested the microphone through voice memos and the sound is either muffled, just background noise or nothing at all, and anyone I'm on a call with cannot hear me.

Is so annoying is happening the same with me, I just purchased this AirPods Gen2 and I’m so disappointed with apple right now!!
Did anybody find any fix? Airpods 2 6A300, only left microphone working, but they both work in windows environment. Airpods are not covered by any active warranty.
Same problem, nobody can hear me speak, total waste of money and they almost deafened me while doing the ear tip fit test. I’m finished with apple products.
Is there any way to not allow the firmware to update on a new pair?
Nope. It just updates them and no way to roll the firmware back to previous versions either. Apple is in the drivers seat and apparently driving while intoxicated.
I turned off conversation awareness and that also seemed to work
