Just got a new Mac Studio with a Magic Trackpad 2, should I get a skin to protect the trackpad surface from scratches.

If you add a skin on the trackpad, you might lose some sensitivity to touch. You'll be adding a layer of material to something that wasn't designed to have one. The top surface is glass, which shouldn't incur many scratches. Even if you get some it shouldn't affect the device performance. That said, there are a lot of options out there.
