Sort option missing on Photos App for iPhone and iPad!

I have a new iPhone and iPad, but running the latest iOS version. According to your help guides all iOS from 14+ should have the sort option available in more tab inside each album in the photos app. However, it does not exist. I only have Zoom In, Zoom Out, Aspect Ratio Grid, Filter, Play Memory Video.

Why is there no sort option? This is the most basic requirement for any folder type whether that be files in the finder or photos in an album!

I do not want the Photos app to sort photos randomly in any order that it sees fit without being able to control it!

Please explain to me how to get this app to sort photos as per your "help" guides which say it can be done, but clearly can't.

I have a 14 pro max and I do NOT have a sort option! This is so very annoying. To be paying so much for iCloud storage & not being able to sort your own photos within the app, is beyond Ridiculous! Like one other person was saying, this is a ‘basic’ option when sorting folders. I have over 9000+ photos. I recently had to sync them on my MacBook bc I was traveling internationally, so they wouldn’t upload. Now, I have over 650 duplicates and they’re ALL now out of order. This has caused me total chaos! I’m beyond frustrated. I’m ready to switch to another product! Apple is making some HUGE mistakes.

You would have to save the synced photos to your iPhone, so they will be a part of the photos library and create a new album from them on the iPhone. Then you will be able to sort them by the date, but still not by the filename. Even your Mac cannot sort the photos by the filename, only by the title or the date. Photos 4 on macOS 10.14 has been the only version of Photos that could sort by the filename - it used the filename when sorting by title, if the photo had no title. This is no longer supported in the current system versions.

It would be a lot easier, if you would sync your devices with iCloud Photos instead of the selective manual syncing with iTunes or the Finder. Then you could manage the synced photos properly on your iPhone and they would be synced to the iPhone in the full resolution. And when you edit the photos on the iPhone or add captions to them, or create albums, this would automatically be updated across all your devices and sync back to your Mac. As it is now, you cannot even delete a photo from your iPhone or apply adjustments, without creating a copy on your iPhone. And the synced photos are having a lesser quality than the originals on your Mac. Changes you apply on your iPhone will not sync back to your Mac.
